“I have a very complicated tax issue so I went to this place to finalize my 2022 income tax return. I met with Mariela, income tax consultant, and oh my gosh...She was super amazing! Her customer service skills were excellent. She has 15 years experience in the tax industry and was indeed very knowledgeable with the tax laws. She was patient and answered all my questions. She took her time in explaining the forms regarding credits and deductions as well as educating me with better planning on taking advantage of better tax savings for next year's filing. “I've been using Ryan for years, recommended to me by my mom who has used him for even longer. They are small but mighty and have done well with the locals that they somewhat recently opened up their own office not too far from their original location. Ryan isn't always the smiliest guy (he'll crack a smile here and there), but he is quick, efficient and informed. To his credit, he deals with the fact that I'm always rolling in late to do my taxes every year, whether I was living 5 mins or now 30 mins away. I called on Thursday and he fit me in today at 11. He didn't rush us and made sure all our docs were good to go and even gave recommendations on small business info and ways to reduce taxes. “This is my first time filing tax return with Mr. Li at HJ Tax & Accounting and I really want to tell my story of what a GREAT experience I have had with him. His professional excellence and patience helped me save thousands of dollars from mistakes in my past filings that should have been returned to me. If you are looking for a trustworthy and experienced accountant at a reasonable price to save you money, you do not have to look further! I sold my house in Arizona for a big loss back in 2014, and my former accountant made a mistake and did not get me a large sum of money that I'm entitled to, over $18,000 to be exact. During my filing for 2017 return with Mr. Li, he spotted the error and worked with me for long hours to sort out a pile of years of my past tax returns. To be honest it was a mess, but throughout the whole thing Mr. Li did not lose his patience one bit and really spent the time to analyze my situation and worked on how to amend the mistakes. Only with his detailed explanation during this tedious process did I start to see the complexity of the NOL (Net Operating Loss) that carries across multiple years and how the mistakes were made and affected me. Eventually he helped me file two amendments, one to the State of CA requesting a return of over $5,000 and another to Federal for over $13,000. So far, I have received the state return and am still waiting for the federal return. Overall, I just feel that a great accountant is not one who just has years of experience and expertise, apparently Mr. Li has all that, but more importantly a great accountant is someone who cares about your finances like his own! Mr. Li's work ethics have really impressed me. I highly recommend HJ Tax & Accounting to anyone who has any type of accounting needs!“
