Went in as a walk in with my husband on a Thursday afternoon. Jacky is able to see us immediately. My husband is so picky with his hair style and he used to go to a lady in sunset area. However, due to heavy traffic to sunset and we would like to find someone who's near our home. We finally found Jacky and he is very knowledgeable, professional and super attentive. And the final outcome is exactly what he's looking for. We will be back Jacky! Thank you!!
I've gotten my hair cut at several different places locally. It's been very hit or miss. My reasons for not sticking with one particular person, especially if I got a really good cut, ranges from price, availability, and distance. I've rocked a pixie for several years and I love it, but I do miss my long hair sometimes. Growing out a pixie takes patience. It's a virtue I do not have a handle on. The reason I've gone to so many different people and places for a cut stems from the awkward, unstyleable, used qtip look I get during the middle stage of growing out a pixie. At that point, I'll take anyone on Yelp with 3 stars or more and is available immediately. Secretly, I also want to find that 1 amazing diamond in the rough barber/stylist who's just waiting to be found so I can share them with the world! Or San Mateo county. You know what I mean, right? No? Only me? Anyhow, I walked past this little 2 chair shop and noticed the pictures taped to the front window. The cuts looked super clean on both men and women. Popped in, asked for a price ($25), and told them I'd be back after breakfast. The stylish, young man who cut my hair was actually in his car and on his way home. Apparently, it was a slow day. Lucky for me (and him), his coworker ran outside and flagged him down. I kinda felt bad, but was told not to worry. Ken (the guy who cut my hair) came back in and proceeded to give me one of the best cuts I've had lately. No lie. I basically asked him to make me look like a kpop star. No lie. Shinee and Big Bang would be proud to have a cut like mine (shameless kpop plug). Don't judge me. This little shop is at the top of my list right now. It's not the tidiest place, there's definitely a "guys work here" and "relaxed workplace" vibe, but that won't stop me from coming back. I think I found a diamond!
Jacky is a good barber. Good prices and tells you what works well for your hair type. Great guy to practice your Cantonese for you ABC's (American born Chinese). He's my guy. Gonna grow my hair back when he comes back from vacay
