“We've had only great experiences with Marty and his crew and trusted associates. In our case, they've always been called in to fix other people's errors, but they're unfailingly professional and responsive, and have also referred us to other great sub-contractors. I don't know what I'd do without Marty on speed-dial, and if I ever have a really big job, he's the first one I'll call.“
“We did not ultimately choose to go with Built Right Construction for our project, but I want to express how much we appreciated their professionalism throughout the process. Carlos was excellent at communicating via email, prompt during the inspection, and provided us with a very detailed estimate of the work needed. He even followed up with us regularly to ensure we had all the information we needed. While we didn’t end up using their services, based on the level of professionalism they displayed, I cannot recommend their company enough.“
“Adval Construction is professional and worked with our tight timeline and delivered everything in great quality. Would definitely recommend!“
“Half of my dad's home was filthy with mold. Robert came out and made a quick assessment, offered a good price. It was not the cheapest but there was something about his demeanor and professionalism that led to believe, saving a few bucks wasnt worth going with someone I wasn't as confident in doing the job right. My dad, who is a crusty old Army Corp. Engineer was pleasantly surprised. "They sure do have all the tools to get the job done right." Hire with confidence. My dad's private, sorry, no photos.“
“We requested quotes from several contractors for our attic conversion project and decided on LRL. Raz came to the house to discuss our plan and let us know we would need an engineer to look things over before he could bid (this was the common thread of all of the companies we considered). We had an engineer draw up plans to shore up the house so it could hold the added weight of a new room and then got quotes. After meeting with Raz, we were pretty sure we would go with LRL. He told us he wouldn't be the least expensive quote, but might come in a little higher because he treats his employees well, and pays them a living wage. That is a win-win. He has a loyal team of skilled individuals who all work well together and he doesn't have to keep training new people to provide the level of service and expertise required to make customers happy.
Everyone has heard the nightmare stories about contractors who start a job and then disappear, or drag things out, or are just generally difficult to work with. LRL is the exact opposite of those horror stories. Our project was completed on time and at the agreed upon price. It seems like that would be the standard, but I don't think it is with other contractors.
The whole team was great. Everyone was very respectful of our home and they seemed to work efficiently together. While they were doing the main attic conversion project, we asked if they could put up a new chandelier for us, which they happily did. They also repositioned an kitchen island pendant for us. When we had ideas mid-project, Raz and the guys were happy to work with us, consider our design thoughts, and either make them a reality, or help us find a great alternative.
They connected us with an AC expert who sold us a mini-split unit, and his crew worked with the LRL team to reposition our heating return. Raz also has an electrical expert who got everything wired up to take the additional load that a whole new room adds.
The finished product is what really matters though, and LRL delivered! We couldn't be happier with our new bonus room. The added storage capacity has made other areas of our home more comfortable as well. The quality of the work is outstanding. LRL stand behind their work and makes sure that the job is done right. We noticed our front porch wood had been slightly damaged while they were bringing wood into the house, so when everything was done, they sanded and painted it back to its original condition. Once the dust settled and we were able to be in our space again, we noticed something that wasn't quite right. Raz sent the team over a few days later, and they made it right. I have never heard of another contractor being so willing to make everything perfect. I can't recommend LRL Builder highly enough. You can stop looking, you've found the best contractor in the Bay.“
“We had a small job installing new lighting in our kitchen, altering a skylight, and putting in a new skylight. We are very happy with the work Boydstun Construction did. They were very organized and got the job done is a timely manner. They had a detailed plan for what would be done each day and they kept to it. The staff was very polite and friendly. We much appreciated the owner Jon meeting with us three times to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. If we had another job to be done we would use them and we would highly recommend them to others.“
“TLDR; If you're looking to electrify and/or increase your home's overall energy efficiency, hire BPP - you won't regret it. How it started: We bought our 1951 home in the summer of 2020. As the weather cooled, we realized we'd bought a cold and drafty house. You could turn the thermostat up as much as you wanted, but it didn't make a difference. When the furnace quit on us in early 2022, we decided to just ride it out wrapped in blankets while we conducted a thorough search for the best contractor to help electrify our home. We started with an energy audit from the excellent Energineers, who informed us that the walls of our home had "no insulation." We now had a clear plan of action from a company that had no stake in what we decided to do, including blowing in insulation, installing a heat-pump powered HVAC system, asbestos remediation, and electrifying our ancient, gas-powered water heater. BPP was on a list of contractors recommended by Energineers, and we are so glad we went with them. Energy efficiency is science, and we are not scientists:As new, first-time homeowners we came into this project with no understanding of the basics of HVAC and insulation, let alone more advanced topics like heat pump technology. The owner, Curtis, was beyond patient with our many questions, meticulously explaining our options. While we went with a state-of-the-art heat pump system, he never pushed us to spend more on a higher-end solution, and in fact encouraged us to consider more budget-friendly options as well. When you're electrifying your home by switching to a heat-pump powered HVAC system and/or water heater, it pays to have someone who understands electricity leading your project. Curtis was able to design a comprehensive upgrade to our electrical system that would support our new equipment. His background in electrical gave us confidence that his solution would work and was right-sized for the project. We received multiple opinions about the best way to heat our home, which had multiple challenges including being built into a hill, a partially underground lower level with concrete walls and a slab floor, and a pre-existing extension on the back of the house with questionable ductwork. Curtis recommended installing a single exterior condenser, a ducted mini-split to heat the upstairs (replacing the asbestos-wrapped ducts with new, modern, energy efficient ductwork), and two mini-split heads on our lower level. I was honestly skeptical that our entire downstairs area could be uniformly heated with two mini-split heads, but the system he designed, in addition to being priced very fairly, works like a charm. How it's going: A company can be great to work with, but when you have someone working on your home, what matters most of all, of course, is results. And BPP delivered results, far above our expectations. Energineers had promised us that if we followed their recommendations, our cold, drafty house could become warm and cozy. Deep down, we didn't really believe them. But it was true! The insulation work alone increased the temperature inside our house by nearly 10 degrees. We love having the 3 different heating zones enabled by Curtis' system, so we don't need to heat areas of the house we aren't using. And our entire house is now as warm as we want it to be. As a bonus, the heat pumps include A/C for the occasional heat wave. Rebates, Permits, PG&E, oh my:Projects like this can mean a lot of paperwork. Curtis and the office manager Kathy made the entire process painless. They took care of everything for us, helping us to get the maximum possible rebates, which cut the cost of our project by about 25%. In addition, they handled the permitting process with the City of El Cerrito, and also navigated the application and approval process with PG&E for the electrical panel upgrade. What it was like to work with BPP:Everyone at BPP was a true pleasure to work with, from Curtis and Kathy to the crew who worked on our home. Adam, Austyn, Javier, Juan and Lando w“

“Peter Ellis const. Did a fantastic job removing carpet, tack strip and wall base. Also ceramic floor tile at the entry along with to bathrooms of sheet vinyl. They sent a 3 man crew w/ a 20’ dump trailer. Work was completed with in 6 + hrs. They moved all furniture for the home owner and placed it back. Of course we did some pre cleaning of desks and small items prior to demo. The 3 young men were very polite and supported or needs making this happen.I was very happy with the final results.“

“Fantastic experience from start to finish. ATG worked with us to figure out exactly what to do and weren’t too pushy about anything. Ricardo and his crew were very professional and tidy during construction. Best of all our house is more comfortable than before and we pay less overall on our energy bill.“
“I have used Sean Butler numerous times over the past several years and have always found his work to be excellent. He is always reliable and his prices are reasonable. I highly recommend him.“
“Eli and his crew did an amazing job on our kitchen remodel. They transformed the world's ugliest kitchen into the beautiful, serene center of our home, a place where the whole family loves to gather. And they did so--shockingly--on time and on budget! I had been pushing off the project for months, dreading the stress and disruption. But Eli and his team, Romeo and Pedro, made the process surprisingly easy; every morning, without fail, they showed up on time and worked quietly (well, as quietly as one can while tearing down a supporting wall), skillfully, and efficiently. We were genuinely sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the project--my kids kept asking when Romeo and Pedro would come back to visit. The answer: As soon as we can afford another house project!
Finally, I want to say that the whole crew was so friendly and patient with our kids. We have a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, who were constantly wandering up to Romeo and Pedro, chattering at them and getting in their way. Romeo, in particular, treated both kids with gentle good humor, chatting back and calling them over to watch while he did interesting things like pour paint into buckets. We were really touched by his kindness.
Thank you, Eli, Romeo, and Pedro! We're already dreaming of the day when you transform our unsightly bathrooms“
“During my 12 years as president of an HOA I called on Omega Construction to make manage large projects as well as the normal day to day repairs. Throughout those years they responded to major wall resurfacing, complete rebuilding of balconies, major structural failures, dock anchor relocations, sliding door replacement and were regarded enough to have been hired by individual homeowner including me to do remodel work to their individual units. I will continue to work with Omega and would not hesitate to call Julio with any issue large or small.“
“Ed and his team did a fantastic job installing a sump pump in our basement and with improvements in the back yard to help us with our water drainage issue we had. I can only recommend him and his team. Great experience!“
“My partner and I needed to replace our claw foot bathtub/shower setup with an easy entry modern shower for safety reasons when we passed age 65. Haim gave us a competitive bid, and began the project a couple of weeks later. He assisted us in finding vendors for tile, quartz countertops, etc. and provided feedback on the design elements and all of the accessories needed to create our dream bathroom.Best Home Remodeling's specialists were all well skilled and totally professional, arrived promptly every morning, and made every possible effort to minimize any dust or disruption to our household.Their tile craftsman is an amazing young man, who gave us an absolutely perfect tile job using mainly 3x6 subway tiles, which can be tedious and difficult to install.Best Home Remodel is comprised of a wonderful group of top notch construction professionals, supervised by excellent foreman, and of course the founder and owner, Haim Zonenchin. We got everything we wanted with quality beyond what we expected, and with a congenial, but professional tone.Highly recommended“
“We needed an electrical panel upgrade in order to have central air and solar added our home. After meeting with several electricians, we decided to go with Mike based on his reviews, honesty and professionalism. Mike was transparent about how long the project could take from the beginning since it was partly dependent on the PG&E disconnecting and reconnecting the lines. He handled all the permitting with the city and paperwork with PGE. Everything was done on time with minimal disruption, within budget, and in accordance to the codes since we passed all inspections without any issues.“
