I am surprised to see so many 1 star reviews since our family had such excellent service 2 years in a row. My mother passed in 2022 and my father earlier this year. My parents had paid for their arrangements many years ago. They kept their contracts in a safe place. Upon their passing, all I had to do was contact the Neptune Society. The intake receptionist was very compassionate and efficiently took the information. Within a reasonable time a team of 2 people, dressed in suits, came to the house and respectfully took our loved ones. For my father's passing they even offered to drape the American Flag over his body, since he was a veteran. We greatly appreciated this special touch.I was contacted the next day by the counsellor assigned to us. He answered my questions and was knowledgeable about the process. He took care of ordering the Death Certificates and filing the Permit paperwork. Once the ashes were available, I was contacted and an appointment was set to pick up the urn from the Costa Mesa office. We were greeted with compassion and respect.Compared to a burial this service is definitely more affordable. I am glad my parents had decided, in advance, what they wanted done, so we did not have to make that decision. We just honored their wishes.
One call and they provided everything I needed. They are really helpful, explaining everything in detail. It's a sad day when you need them but they make it as easy as possible. They offer additional services, other than basic cremation but they skip the hard sell I've witnessed at other mortuaries.
I have been talking with Kelly from Neptune Society and her attitude is somewhat "snotty," for lack of a better word. I did not get an email request from her and when she called to tell me she had sent a request for a photo ID of my loved one she became condescending. She also waited almost 5 days to call and tell me she had sent this request all the while my loved one has not been cremated yet. I hope I never have to deal with Neptune Society again.
