I would not recommend going with Shelby Carion or shelbi_tatz, unless you enjoy being lied to, gaslit, and told misinformation about your permanent tattoo that you wanted to trust her to put on your body. Our little saga begins when I reach out about a tattoo design, and I schedule an appointment. Everything ran smoothly, we made an appointment, I made the deposit, we were set. She underwent something absolutely terrible, so I did reach out to make sure she was doing well, and to offer flexibility due to her recent experience. I was trying to be a good client. She confirmed on December 29th, that I would have the design on Tuesday, when my tattoo was scheduled for Friday. I was excited due to my major anxiety, and because we were designing something that neither of us had an exact reference for. On Tuesday, I received nothing, on Wednesday I received nothing. On Thursday I reached out and was told she would have the tattoo design over to me shortly as she was putting on the last touches to the design. By midnight on Thursday, I hadn't recieved anything from her. I sent her a message stating the following, "I wanted to let you know that I've decided not to move forward with this tattoo. I have severe anxiety, specifically with not being able to see the design prior to the day of the tattoo. I don't like to make last-minute design changes and wouldn't have the time to review the tattoo design prior to my appointment. I stayed up late hoping to see it, but unfortunately, it didn't come through. I wish you a speedy recovery and all the best. Thank you for your time." Her response came through as gaslighting, stating multiple times that she never shows the artwork prior to the appointment and this works for all of her other clients but didn't seem to work for me. No hard feelings but I'm out my deposit as she did design the tattoo. She consistently stated "No hard feelings" as if placating someone beneath her and she stated she's been professionally tattooing for 7 years, however, she's only been tattooing in California since 2019. Now I'm not the best at math, but 2019 was not 7 years ago. Additionally, I have never seen the design. Even after she stated she would show it to me. I honestly doubt she ever made the design and was trying to deceive me so she could keep the deposit without doing any actual work. I have given her 8 days to produce the design. I wasted $100 on this design, which apparently the deposit isn't just for the design, it's for her art supplies and things, so just be wary when you book with her. I would NOT recommend her, and I highly doubt I would have loved the tattoo she would have tried to put on my body when I wasn't able to see it prior. Do not go to this woman. She lies, and she will try to make you feel bad for having boundaries. 0/10. I have had great experiences prior at this shop, and truly loved the atmosphere. This artist has ruined my trust though. Very friendly environment, clean shop, and they do great work they really listen to their clients and provide beautiful piece’s.
