About Chuze Fitness

Chuze Fitness is a welcoming and well-maintained gym that offers a comprehensive fitness experience at an affordable price. With a motto of "Less Attitude. More Fitness," the gym prioritizes inclusivity and provides a range of amenities to help members achieve their health and wellness goals. The gym's facilities include a turf area, free weights, cardio machines, group fitness classes, hot yoga, team training, and a kids club, making it a one-stop-shop for fitness enthusiasts. The kids club, in particular, is a highlight, with enthusiastic and caring staff who engage children in fun projects. However, some parents have expressed concerns about the restrictive hours of operation, which may not accommodate non-traditional work schedules. Additionally, the new reservation system has been met with criticism, as it can be stressful and inconvenient for parents who already have a lot on their plate. Despite these limitations, the gym is known for its cleanliness and friendly staff. Members appreciate the variety of equipment and classes available, as well as the amenities like saunas and massage chairs. However, some suggest that the gym could benefit from wider zero-gravity chairs and expanded hours to accommodate a more diverse range of users. Overall, Chuze Fitness is a solid choice for those looking for a supportive and well-equipped gym experience.

This review is for the Kids Club. 5/5 for the staff, they are great and I love the projects they have for the kids and it IS apparent they earnestly care for your child. So, I hope you pass this review onto Corporate because I want to advocate for you! Now this part of my review includes the cons for Chuze Fitness Kids Club policy in general: 1) The hours for kids club is restrictive. 8-12AM and 4:30-8:30PM? Not all of us work the 9-5 schedules that these hours are made for. You literally coup us parents into the busiest hours of your business. Because of this, a lot of our time at the gym is spent waiting on a machine/bench to free up or we modify our workouts just to make the most out of the time/membership that WE pay for. IN addition to this, Chula Vista Chuze is the only Chuze gym in south San Diego with childcare so not only are we restricted to hours, but we are restricted to ONE location. 2) This new reservation program is a flop. I get that you guys are trying to combat waitlists and parents who are upset that childcare is not readily available when they walk through the door. But the answer is not a reservation. I'm sure your staff is tired of politely trying to convince parents that this new system is "GOOD" for them. Let's be honest PARENTHOOD is not conducive to schedules. For most, we are already struggling to make it to the gym. It takes packing diaper bags, ensuring baby/kids are fed, clean, rested, bringing extra changes of clothes for accidents, snacks for after, etc etc. sometimes it takes a good (30 minutes) to get out of the house, add on a child who is crying for unknown reason-- do you understand why a reservation isn't feasible & in fact MORE stressful for us parents? On my to do list of parenting, I now have to ensure I have made a reservation every day for the succeeding 3 days. And if it's booked, well that just sucks FOR ME. Of note, I missed a reservation on Friday cause I had spent the whole night prior at ER with my firstborn and when I walked in on Saturday with my baby I was kindly reprimanded by staff for forgetting to cancel. I'm sorry but canceling a reservation was not my priority in the ER. The fact that I made it to the gym after pulling 24 hours at the hospital with a child in pain should have been a pat on the back for me. And that's not your fault, but it shouldn't be mines either. LIFE happens. Imagine you guys charging a cancellation fee on a deceased parent cause they didn't show up and you have their widow on the phone/in front of you trying to explain why they didn't show up--dramatic, but that's life sometimes. My point is, instead of making a reservation system why don't you just hire more childcare staff and open the hours up so you can spread the crowd around. A live waitlist could also help so that we can know if it's worth it to drive to the gym and wait 10-15 minutes. Most won't be upset if they know ahead of time.

Very clean gym and great equipment! Staff is kind and helpful as well! It can definitely get really crowded at times but overall a decent gym! You just have to figure out what times aren’t very crowded.

Love the staff and cleanliness of the gym. My only suggestions would be to get wider zero gravity chairs since I have broad shoulders and it is uncomfortable to sit in those chairs. I would also like to see the gym expand. Mondays are so crowded and it is hard to get a workout in
