Having lost a loved one and also having to take care of business and make arrangements takes a lot out of you. But I have to say how comfortable and smooth it was working with Jeanine. She was so patient and understanding, and super empathetic, really sweet. From the beginning, she explained how everything worked and what would be happening step by step with all possible options. The day of the services the additional staff was super helpful and welcoming as well. I feel bad forgetting his name, but I believe the gentleman was Joel, was really helpful with putting up our frame and some plants we had brought. He also helped coordinate the pallbearers and offered gloves for them. You guys are great, thank you for being available with excellent service at the toughest times of need.

I didn't make arrangements, but attended the funeral of a family member here. The staff was very attentive. We were a rather large group and the gentleman made sure to open the extra seating in the chapel area as soon as he saw it was needed. The viewing or chapel area was very clean and well-arranged. The Jess C Spencer employees attended to all the funeral needs every step of the way: from the viewing, funeral mass, and burial. The entire service was excellent! There is ample parking here! Also conveniently located right off the 580 freeway in Castro Valley. On a side note, if somebody in your party doesn't have a vehicle to get here, the Castro Valley BART station is literally across the street. This was the first time I've ever attended a service here. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this mortuary, in the future, if somebody needed services.

The death of a loved one is so hard because you are trying to process the loss and also make sure that your loved one gets the best farewell possible. This place allowed us the best service to be able when we lost my sister from taking care of her transport from an hour away, to drafting the death certificate, holding her services and transporting her to the cemetery. They gave a room that we were able to give my sister an Islamic washing and prep before her viewing and were very helpful with the whole process. The room for the services was a great size and they allowed the abundance of family and friends we had in attendance flow out of the room into the lobby and entryway with no problems. The staff was very friendly and helpful. With the service that we received i without a doubt recommend this place!
