Unleash the Beast Pet Boarding Training

“If you’re looking for a professional, caring and super knowledge trainer Unleash the Beast is the best! We had a super energetic toy poodle, 4 months old with no concept of commands. We also did not want to use treats so we signed up to the board and train and could not be happier with the results. I got pictures of our pup every day for 5 weeks, FaceTimes and also at home visits and training sessions to help us sustain the behaviour. I feel so blessed to have found this business and am pretty sure we will continue to work with Unleash the Beast throughout my dogs life - this training will improve our quality of life with our pup. I would do it again and again, money well spent! Thank you!!“

“Today I took my dog to the bank for the first time in a few months. I use to take her all the time, but she has triggers that we’re not sure where they come from and she can get quit intimidating…I put her in a sit, down/stay position while I was with the teller, who is very familiar with Kansas, especially her tornado side ?. I told her she’s been in training for about the last 6 months. She laughed and said “she might be too chill now” hahaha she did really good! Her training with Patrick and Bradley are working wonders on her! And after staying in their home with them for a 2 week board and train, she fell in love with Patrick (and Shannon) and now gets so excited to see them!“

Midtown Mutts Pet Boarding Training

“The Midtown Mutts team walked and took care of our dear dog for almost the past two years until we had to say goodbye. Even as he aged and his needs were more complex, the dog walkers were always patient and caring (pro-tip: sign up your senior dog for at least the 30 minute walk so neither the dog walker nor your dog feel rushed). Here's a picture of him on one of his numerous walks with the wonderful team, and an especially big thank you to Joanne!“

American River Canine Pet Boarding Training

“American River Canine saved our family! About two years ago, my fiancé and I adopted a German Shepherd named Bear from the Sacramento SPCA. Bear was, and still is, an energetic, fun-loving, sweet dog. He just wasn't friendly towards other dogs or cats. Bear would growl, lunge, and chase any other animal near him. Walking him just around the block was challenging because he would tug and try to go after other dogs and cats. It turns out that what we were interpreting as aggression, was actually pent-up excitement in Bear. Deric's extensive knowledge in psychology along with his years of experience working with dogs opened our eyes on how to better understand and communicate with Bear. Deric helped us work with Bear on commands like "place", "here", "out" and "leave it". Working on these commands seemed more like training for us humans, but it all paid off in the end. Nowadays, Bear is a much more obedient dog who can be in the same room as our cats without growling or trying to run after them. Walking Bear is no longer a scary activity. It is something we can do with ease. We even take Bear out in public places like Home Depot, PetSmart, and Iron Horse. We are also in the process of adopting another dog for our family too! Both Bear and our newer dog attend Deric's doggie daycare, The Nature of Dogs, twice a week. I can honestly say that if it weren't for Deric, we probably would have rehomed Bear. I am forever grateful for the dedication and insight Deric has given to our family. I would 100% highly recommend American River Canine for any of your canine training needs!“

Southgate Veterinary Hospital Pet Boarding Training

“Updated for 2024! My family has now been taking animals to this facility for years - since 2014! When we first started coming here, we primarily had Dr. Chapman as our vet, but over time we saw Dr. Sangani more and more. A word of advice: the older reviews for the Dr. that talk about rudeness or lack of bedside manner weren't dishonest - /then/. Since 2014 Dr. Sangani has become our *favorite vet*, his manner of speaking and explaining things to people has become so much more welcoming, understanding and patient. Over the years we have fostered a good relationship with him and the wonderful front staff people. It's a relief to know that we can call at 8am and be able to speak to someone on the phone, get advice on what's going on with our pet, and be told to bring them in for help(usually the same week!). If they can't help us, they will refer us to someone who can, but 9/10 times we've been able to have a quick visit, get an antibiotic shot/anti-inflammatory and be on our way. Dr. Sangani also does X-rays and surgeries on site, and he helped us when our older car broke his hind leg years ago. We came out of that with a tri-pawd cat who lived another year or two, happily stumping around on three legs, before the meds he got every week could no longer keep up with his hyperthyroidism. We have had to make the decision to let multiple animals go due to illness over the years, and every time the staff here are kind and considerate - I feel like they love our animals almost as much as we do, and really see the pain we always have in making that final decision. Our house is full of a bunch of softies, so we have a habit of rescuing strays. Because we bring in so many in-need animals ourselves, we understand why Dr. Sangani does the trips he does. Be aware that for at least a couple weeks (sometimes more) a year, the hospital will be closed as Dr. Sangani does missions (a la Doctors without Borders) to help animals in less privileged countries. I am proud to be supporting a vet clinic that does things like that. 5/5 stars for us, and our 9 furry felines (+1 stray we are fostering at the moment!).“

Wag Time Dog Training - Don Kirkish Pet Boarding Training

“Don has been amazing to work with. We have two dogs a 4 year old French bull dog and a 2 year old Boston / French mix. Both dogs have been through basic petco training and know sits and stays only when treats were used. After having a new baby in the house we needed someone who could help us learn methods to teach the dogs obedience and behavioral training for our everyday life. Before don, our French bull dog was refusing to walk out past the garage , I would have to drag him down the street. Walks were getting miserable. My Boston would constantly be running and jumping on guests as well as the French bull dog sitting on guests and needing all do the attention. my husband and I would usually be distracted hosting, as we'd be running back and forth to try and get them to calm down. . Since our training with don we have been able to take them on vacation and have people over (even children) with the dogs staying calm and manageable. Our French bull dog started walking again (it had been 1.5 years since I could get him to go on walks normally!!) I was amazed at how calm and obedient they have become, as well as the skill set my husband and I have learned to train them. I want to say it's literally been a miracle, as they were getting unmanageable as our lives were starting to get busier. They have been awesome at sitting calmly and staying when guests come over as well as when my husband and I want calm time in the evenings or are feeding the baby . Walks are amazing now, they both actually walk and keep going with us without stopping or dragging them- or them pulling us! (Amazing) . The only regret I have is not hiring don sooner, and saving my money on all the rewards (treats) based training.“

“Kayla is amazing, she quickly and efficiently helped us get all the essentials down when we got our lovely little rescue pup. Her recall training is especially wonderful: It’s easy, fun for both you and the pup, and results in the most reliable recall we could ever hope for. It’s saved us from having a skunked dog more than once, and been a great resource when socialising! I can’t recommend her highly enough!“

“Alan and Renee of Albree Dog Training have been the best trainers we've ever worked with! We've worked with other trainers and had good results before, but we didn't realize how basic those other training sessions were until we signed up with Albree Dog Training. Super impressed!!! I feel like my dog and I are starting to get it. The trainers are very nice and care about our dogs. They put the dog's safety first above all else, which I greatly appreciate. We will continue to work with them and refer others to them.“

South Sacramento Pet Hospital Pet Boarding Training

“This has been our little guys go to Vet. Whenever he's unwell, we take him here. We recently scheduled an appointment to get his little snaggle tooth's checked and were able to get on the schedule fairly quick. Just like a doctor's office for us humans, there's going to be a check-in process and there will be a wait. Hospitals have patients, Vets do as well! They have a dog area and a cat area, so be sure to wait on the correct side. We got called back within 15mins. Mr. Brown (that's our little guy) got weighed. The vet tech got our concerns entered into the computer and took a look at him. Once she was done, we waited for the Vet. Here's the part where I feel people get impatient. Yes, we waited roughly 30mins maybe a little longer. But Vets are responsible for our animals in the back that are recovering from surgeries or injuries. I'd rather wait the 30min-hour to get our boy checked then for the Vet to feel like they need to rush through caring for an animal in the back. Does Mr. Brown matter? ABSOLUTELY. But we knew he's not bleeding and he's not under any stress. Our Vet came in and checked out Mr. Brown. Listened to his little heart and checked out the snaggle tooth's he had left. They needed to be removed and we were prepared for that as this was the very hospital that took care of his teeth quite a few years ago. Our Vet went through how much the procedure will be and took off anything that isn't valid such as x-rays to lower our cost (she can clearly see there's only two left). We scheduled for his teeth to be removed the day after next. Mr.B is a well mannered boy. He doesn't care for anything except sleeps, food, cuddles, and belly scratches. He's what we call a loaf and I'm sure everyone here thought he was too, once they unraveled him from his blanket (lol). But they were careful, they took him with his blanket (which I was happy about because I don't want him thinking weren't coming back!!), and they were on time. We dropped him off at 8:30 and picked him up at 3:30 (just like they said). The Vet Techs were sweet with him and let us know how he did. My husband and I are grateful for this place.“
