I live in Burlingame and have seen Shanghai Salon many times, never giving it a second thought. Then I got curious and looked at reviews: overall positive comments and amazement that you can get a good haircut for only $10. Wow! I had to see for myself. Roger, the owner, is a nice man and a good barber. English is not his native language and, while he has an accent, he listens and does just what you ask. My $10 haircut from Shanghai Salon is every bit as good as any from much more expensive salons. If you're looking for a good and cheap barber, I highly recommend Shanghai Salon in Burlingame.

10 bucks, that's really all you need to know about this place. This is in downtown Burlingame, 2022, and a haircut at this place costs pretty much the same or even less than a meal at Panda Express. Yes, the place is not the most well-kept. Yes, it was empty when I entered (and a guy appeared only when I called for assistance) and the person was pretty curt throughout our exchange. And yes, the opening hours aren't the most convenient. But yes, it is still $10 and I have to give them all the props for that. In conclusion, decent place for a simple haircut, in-and-out.

I was looking for a new place to get a haircut and I stumbled upon this spot on yelp! I used to live down the street from here and I didn't know this place existed but once I found out they do $10 haircuts here so I decided to give it a try. Roger is very friendly and he does exactly what you want and you just have to let him know beforehand, and to everyone else that complains he doesn't know how to cut hair. You can go pay $40-50 for a professional barber cut. But for $10!??? In Burlingame???? This is unheard of and I gotta say I was very happy with the outcome! Will def give it a try again next month.
