My 6 year old was admitted and "treated" by Dr Kenneth Yu on 3/16, he carelessly misdiagnosed my little girl watching her suffer from fever 105 and just dismissing it as, "this is not dangerous" - saying "it's a virus", It wasn't a virus (and tests showed that), it was a UTI, but he didn't bother to even order simple tests to discover that. Because of him, my child suffered for 2 more days for no reason. I can't believe how careless and dismissive he was. And this is with outrageous charges that you get charged. Shame on you, Dr Yu and Peninsula Medical Center. You wouldn't have been less rich if you ordered a simple urine test! **do not take your children here! These people have no clue what to do in pediatric cases **

3/6/24: this was further correspondence from Jeremiah: " Hi, Alex. Unfortunately, we're not notified if someone edits their response, but we are when a review is updated, so thanks for taking the time to do that. Regarding your questions, our Patient Experience team is your best resource and can be reached at (650) 696-5565. Jeremiah, Social Care Team" NOTE: my question was in response to YOU stating that you would escalate my concerns to leadership -- NOT push me off to another dept and take more of my time and for it to go nowhere and unheard. Keep in mind the cost of this ER visit was over $10k..., so receiving decent care is expected--not a luxury.

Been debating whether to write a review but maybe my experience will help somebody. In September 2021, I had emergency surgery because I blew a hole in my esophagus. I remained in the hospital for two and a half weeks. Had two additional surgeries one to insert a stent (esophagus still leaking 2X) and one to remove it a month later. Was on a liquid diet for over a month. The nurses were excellent as was the care I received. I had post op appointments with Dr. Kubat and all six were cancelled right before each visit and then reinstated a few minutes later. I supposedly needed authorization from my insurance company. Insurance company verified at least five times that no authorization was needed. I contacted Patient Relations Dept a few times and was told that there was probably a problem with my insurance. I then called Care Mgmt and they told me the same thing. I went further up only to be told I can connect you to Patient Relations; that's all they can do. I had an attorney write a letter to Grace Estevez, Dept Mngr Surgery Center, and no response. Another attorney sent a letter to the Palo Medical Foundation clearly showing how Peninsula was in the wrong and they just ignored it. It took me over a year going through all the channels. Peninsula/PA Med Foundation in my opinion are run by extremely incompetent people. Also, for a newer facility, Peninsula is very poorly designed. I still had four tubes in my abdomen upon discharge. Was wheeled out and the tiles in the lobby are not smooth. The movement from the bumpy ride yanked at my tubes which was very painful. Due to the heavy rain, the ceiling had collapsed in the surgery center when I went for my appointment. It's hot in one room and cold in another just across the hall. This is not an old building! There is no pharmacy, so my prescriptions were sent to Walgreens on ECR (now closed) and they didn't have it. Had to try and find it at different locations or wait a week. I was taken to Peninsula because it was an emergency and closest to my home. I have not gone back to Peninsula even when I received a referral. Bottom line is to make money with zero care once you leave the facility. If you have had a bad experience, I would suggest filing a complaint with CA Dept of Public Health.
