It would be helpful if the spa would post information to clarify that they are not open to the public — only guests of the hotel. I don’t see this specified anywhere on their website..

Great spa! Came from across the street because of the lack of a spa there. Was pleasantly surprised when we got here. We spent some money and got the 20 min soak, 80 min massage. A big stainless tub overlooking the forest was so cool. Then the message - I liked mine (make sure you call way ahead in order to get female masseuse). Our package came with lunch and was delightfully light. The service was super friendly and we were able to use the facilities all day. There is a pool (a little cold), infinity hot tub with jets over looking the forest, a bar, and many different lounging areas. This was a very cool place! Thank you

this place is very popular with the Ventana guests and you definitely have to book ahead/early if staying here. Not sure why there is only 1 review though with the amount of spa goers I saw during my stay here. The spa reception is small and has a small seating area with coffee table books of the surrounding area (eg: carmel, big sur, etc). There's tea, water, some light snacks like trail mix and dried fruit. There is a sauna, though it's outside on the deck / veranda area which overlooks the incredible big sur scenery and ventana pool. You are advised to come in the hotel room robe so there's no changing room in the spa area itself. I got the 80 min hot stone massage from Aya and the following day the cranial sacral body work from Lorena. Both therapist are amazing and both treatments are very different from each other. I love hot stone massage. I love the heat from the stone and the different angles of the pressure these provide. Aya worked my right side more as I've had neck/shoulder/back tension. She was great! Lorena gave a helpful overview of cranial sacral as that was my first time getting this type of treatment. It was helpful to know ahead of time what it involved. It was magical and magnificent. I wish it was offered for 80 minutes as well, but it appears to only be a 50 min service. Highly recommend the spa, these therapist and the service! I left feeling like jelly (which in this situation is a good thing)
