I have not been there since several years before the pandemic and it was a interesting experience for my wife and I I also have been there twice with a person who was working there very cordial and pleasant times also attended a workshop good times and recommended to all who would like something different

As with anything- there are Light and Dark aspects of Esalen. This was a bucket list trip for me. The Light- the grounds are extraordinarily beautiful. Breathtaking. I had a beyond-words massage with Sabina (although Esalen charged me a tip after I had given her a $50 cash tip in the envelopes that Esalen leaves in the massage area. Sigh). The food was amazing. The Dark- the “festival” I attended had some significant issues. Some aspects of the presentations felt performative and not genuine. And on the last day the afternoon session was cut short (from the schedule that was advertised) and the evening session was postponed so that the faculty could... read full review

It’s great, as always. My only suggestion, the theme is “disconnect to reconnect. “ So why have Wi-Fi in any of the rooms at all? I understand having in the main dining area for people to check their messages. But I don’t think it should be in the accommodations. Some of us cannot sleep at all with it on.
