I have been patient with this clinic for almost three years, and nothing's changed. The doctors are great and they provide good care, but half of the office staff can't communicate with you. The office staff can't communicate with each other. The office staff won't know what requires an appointment vs simple phone call or specimen collection. where, if they feel like it, staff will lie and say they don't schedule appointments. Some of them have worked there for 10 years, some 20. The office will promise to send you a document from your doctor attesting that you're fit to work, that you need to start a job, then promise again and again, make you get another appointment weeks later, and then still not send the document, even in that MyChart app everyone makes you use these days but doesn't get used correctly by clinics like this. HCPs won't even respond to messages on it for months. Appointments will get mixed up with other people's appointments. You won't get ever see your PCP, because they're always booked out for months. You can't directly call your clinic, just a call center that has vastly different training of the staff. I have stayed with this clinic because they accept Medi-Cal and they're close to home, but the frustration has far outweighed the benefits, and I will be avoiding interacting with and recommending their name to anyone. Find a clinic that knows what they're doing.

I made an appointment for a specific test to be done, went in to the appointment and I was then asked a bunch personal questions about my mental health and sex life which I told them was none of their business. They did not do the specific test and then told me to go to a Quest Lab and come back again after I get the results. Why didn't they send me to the Quest Lab first? So they can collect more insurance money that's why. Human life does not matter to any of these places, it's all about filling quotas to the insurance companies. I was also told my Doctor would be meeting with me when it turned out to be an assistant. I have been trying to get this test for months, switched Doctors, switched locations, it's total wreck trying to deal with this nonsense. Doctors are suppose to help people not make their life a living hell. The American healthcare system is broke beyond repair!

The Downtown Oakland/East Oakland office. (NOT) Ashby Office. Because of a complaint with Dr.Douglas all the other doctors have given me a hard time. (No worries) While being a regular patient at Lifelong Medical Care I have not received accurate care. I have been a patient since 2008 or a little before. I am doing a lot of research myself. I have a family history of thyroid condition. I have a thyroid condition with abscess nodules on my thyroid that are very painful. I also have Psoriasis which causes Arthritis and psoriatic nerve pain, two left and right heel spurs. For the pain I have been given tons of medications that causes sever constipation that has made many of my issues worse. Why would a patient with a digestive disorder be given ONLY prescriptions that causes constipation? I don't secrete enough Silva which is one of the reasons i'm not breaking my food down, but this has still being over looked. I was never told any of the complications I should be aware of with psoriasis. I continued to having nerve and joint pain that I was unaware I was going to have. They just made it seem as if I was complaining and like I was having some mental issues. Then I was told I was getting better. This doesn't get better. Chiropractic and physical therapy helps with temporary pain relief. I have had maybe for different primary care providers in the last year and none has been helpful to my care. My lab test are always late or never reported to me. I just completed X-rays and they want me to go back to repeat after the fact the technician ONLY done a without contrast image. I was supposed to have with and without. My thyroid ultrasound report still has not been sent to me after completing a consent form. Ear, nose and throat, It's been about six months and no call from ENT Dr. Zemes office or Lifelong Medical Care considering me going anywhere else. This office has never completed a physical exam ONLY done my vitals and ask me what I was there for.
