Was seen in Urgent Care by Dr. Elizabeth Schambers for an ear ache. She diagnosed me with "Acute dysfunction of left eustachian tube". During the appointment I experienced implicit and explicit bias. Dr. Schamber was dismissive, a know it all, in a hurry, and would not allow me to advocate for myself as a person of color. The experience was traumatizing. She deserves a NO STARS. Gives John Muir network a bad reputation. I would leave the network. However, I like my PCP and OBGYN.
HORRIBLE FRONT DESK TRAINING!! My daughter has been seen at this facility since she was 6 months old. I too have been seen here once myself however, today was different! I called around 8am and scheduled an appointment for my daughter at 2pm due to her not feeling well. When I arrived I was told by Mariah, the front desk receptionist that she could not be seen because her medical insurance is not through alameda county. I explained that we have NEVER had insurance in alameda county and have NEVER been turned away at this location. She basically told me that whoever checked us in the previous times must not have checked the county properly. (So this is my fault?) I then asked for a manager whose name was Erin and she basically told me the same thing. That for the last year, her team clearly hasn't been doing their job but TODAY, when my daughter had a fever and I drove 45 minutes for her appointment, they decided that wanted to actually execute their jobs correctly! There was no compassion! Mariah barely made eye contact and I'm not intimidating at all, so not sure why her customer service skills were so MEDIOCRE. Erin looked as if she felt bad but clearly has NO CONTROL in her position because she turned away an innocent 2 year old that needed to be seen! Moral of the story is please make sure your insurance is in alameda county before scheduling an appointment at this facility. They will literally see you one day and turn you down the next! It's REALLY sad because I actually loved this facility and the entire experience prior to today. Tips: 1.Mariah, go in the back and do inventory if you can't make eye contact! 2.Erin, as the manger EVERYTHING is your fault! Your team not being trained properly is completely on you as the "Manager". 3.Get your team on the same page because the next patient may not leave as calm and quietly as I did. Thank you to all the doctors that have been amazing during our visits prior to today. Peace and Love!
Not a single professional or capable person here. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Each doctor is an independent contractor and has no interest in the human being they’re serving. A pediatrist had an hour and a half conversation with me about her former job, refused me care to heal and offered me custom inserts instead. I was charged 395 for this conversation. I am not able to see my Primary care physician even though I pay monthly for this visit. I was told to go to urgent care instead. There are GYM bros walking through the middle of this healthcare facility. The Parking is awful. An all around disgusting place that is not at all interested in treating patients but is dedicated...read full review
