One of the kindest and sweetest experiences I have had with an animal clinic.
A cat adopted me months ago, and no one claimed her so we became roommates. Soon I moved to a new house here in Two Harbors and she of course came along with me. I found out that she was pregnant and not just a happy chubby sweet girl. She then had kittens (6... I am a grandmother of 6 kittens ?).
Once the community found out I had these sweet babies I started having folks over when they were old enough to see so that they could get used to human touch, different smells and the community as a whole. Some of which decided that they would love to take their special favorites home. I told them that I would reach out when they're old enough and when I got them all fixed. I had been saving up unsure of how much it would cost to get all the kittens plus momma fixed. So I called the Animal Clinic of Catalina. I spoke with Jess and she was so unbelievably kind. She gave me the number of the humane society and I communicated with a woman there. They then told me that they would pay for all of them to get fixed and we had a beautiful moment over the phone and I was teary-eyed and verklempt and completely blown away. So we then kept everyone home until they were 13 weeks old.
Then poppa (my wonderful beau) and I drove all of the kitties through the interior over to Avalon to stay at the clinic in their own sweet little special room for the duration of four days while everyone got fixed.
When the day came that we got to go pick up our babies we went into the office and then into the small room where we saw all of the kittens and momma. So filled with joy and so safe and happy. Jess's niece would visit the kitties every day after school and play with them until closing which I know was a huge help in their comfort (thank you sweet pea ?) Dr. Denny knocked on the door and came in shaking our hands sharing that he had never met such wonderful kittens and that we did such a wonderful job with them which made me giggle and cry again a little.
They gave us a HUGE supply in momma and kitten food to take home with us, we felt supported the whole way through.
This place is truly a precious part of the community, and I'm so grateful to know that they are there helping others and their sweet critters.

My son and I came over for a day to get a couple of dives in. We had an awesome time. Sean set us up with gear. We had our first dive as a guided tour. The second dive we did on our own. Both times we were able to see a giant Black Sea bass. It was approximately 6 feet long and anywhere from 350 to 400 lbs. that was a first for me. So that was a highlight!! Tons of other sea life eels, Garibaldi, sheepshead, lobster and a lot of other sea-life. We called when we were finished and were picked up with in a few minutes. The booking was easy, the equipment that we used worked flawlessly. We came in earlier than expected and Sean was able to accommodate us and get us out for a wonderful day of diving.
Wow - I just called for our annual spa and pampering as part of our trek to the JazzTrax Fest in October - THE SPA IS CLOSED -Permanently. We spent the last 15 years attending and the spa was our kick off !! Sorry to see it close, a gem spot and gems of spa technicians !!! Thanks for the great service and always making it special !!! RG
I’d give Lourdes a thousand stars if it were possible. As luck or fate would have it, she had a cancellation and was able to get me in on short notice. I was feeling awful about my hair and she made me feel like a million dollars when it was all said and done. Lourdes, thank you for being you and taking me in. I recently visited Catalina Sea Spa and had a great experience, thanks to Titianna at the front desk. She provided excellent customer service, making us feel welcomed and attended to. While we didn’t get a massage, her friendly support made our visit enjoyable. I highly recommend this spa for a positive experience!
The hotel metropole was a home away from home for my birthday weekend in the beginning of June this year. My husband and I checked in on Yelp and received a complimentary bottle of champagne, although when we asked for it, the individual at the front desk had to double check if they were still honoring the coupon, which they did. We were in room 317, which after the fact, I noticed the reviews discussing the generator right outside the room. It was definitely loud when it kicked on, so I don't recommend staying in that room. A spooky encounter: On the first night, in the middle of the night, maybe around 2:45am, I kept feeling a tapping on my back and shoulders and woke up and turned around to ask my husband to stop, only to be faced with my husband in a full 3rd dream snore. In the morning, I let him know and he didn't remember anything. We proceeded to look up the history of the hotel and haunted Santa Catalina, to learn of some people dying in the hotel a loooooooong time ago. Anyways, it was an average, clean and warm hotel with a nice in room electric fire place. Not sure if we will stay here again, but if we did we will ask for one of the rooms that overlook the metropole shops.
