The little room above lifted was so cute! I did worry about ventilation, but with the window all the way open it wasn't bad. I asked Paige to paint in gel, which is not where her artistic skills really shine (she's more of an acrylic girlie). Nonetheless I love the snakeskin look that came out of trying to do "pool nails" with an almost poisonous looking mint green! such a cool look!

I've seen a few dozen massage therapists in the last ten years due to work injuries and wear and tear (probably over a 100 massage sessions) and I'd say Michelle is among the top three I've seen....the other two being up in Canada. She is friendly and has plenty of advice to point you in healing directions for your body and will definitely make you feel better after. If you are looking for a healing touch, look no further.

This review is lonnng overdue! I recieved the biorepeel treatments from Alexandra and had such a wonderful experience. Her treatment space is so calming and tranquil and Alexandra always made me feel really safe and taken care of. She has such a calming presence and a tender touch. The peel was very helpful in reducing the appearance of years of scars from skin issues and brought an overall glow to my skin! It was super addicting to see the progress week by week. I’m looking forward to booking another treatment with Alexandra real soon!

Sean took the time to address these and worked with me to make the project a success. Sean installed an automatic water shut-off valve required by my insurance. This was to avoid cancellation, as many insurers are exiting California. Sean had not installed this brand device and spent time with me, upfront, researching any issues we might encounter in advance of doing the installation. Sean completed the project in an efficient manner and his work was excellent!! I highly recommend Abbott Plumbing for any plumbing need. We recently had Lyon’s detail our RAM 3500 “Land Yacht”. We had recently purchased the truck in Colorado and drove it home to Humboldt, accumulating dust, dirt, grime and road salt along the way. Just for reference the dealers don’t “detail” the cars on their lots. They wash, vacuum and wipe them down, most folks at home do a better job.Anyway, word on the street was that Chris is the best of the best and could make our truck look amazing, and he did. Chris explained the entire process, answered all my questions, and meticulously detailed every inch of our truck. When I went to pick up the truck I was absolutely amazed. He did a fantastic job. He also explained how to best maintain the finish to keep the truck looking its best. I could not be happier and I would highly recommend Lyon’s Auto Detailing to anyone.

Jaime did incredible coloring on my hair and it is worth it. Very expensive because my hair takes 5 hours to do so with that being said. Worth every dollar and very professional and great product quality.

An artist with color, she always gives me rich, beautiful color with the naturally balanced high and low lights that I love. Her hair cuts grow out even and flattering so I enjoy compliments on my hair all the time. It’s such an asset to know that my hair will always look its best. She’s a consummate professional, and a pleasure to know.

Small waxing business located in a building with many different salons. Alessandra is great at waxing. It's nearly painless and she's very friendly. Her wax is very gentle and sourced from Brazil. I highly recommend her! She takes payment through Zelle so make sure you have that set up.

Cute little spot tucked in behind a thrift shop. There is a desk which leads to a private hallway with a treatment room, lounge, and private bathroom. The lounge was a good size for two or three folks to relax and the staff encouraged bringing in snacks. The treatment room was warm and cozy and we both enjoyed our 60 minute facials. I added on a scalp massage/hair oil treatment that was so nice, my hair still feels great after 2 washes. The face mask applicator felt like butterfly wings on my skin. The only cons were that the lobby was quite cold and I wish I was walked through more of what was used on my face for each step. I would definitely go back!

Exceptional tattoo shop. Got a tattoo from Brian Kaneko who is a phenomenal artist and also a nice guy. Everyone in the shop was friendly and getting tattooed here was a relaxing experience. This is the place to go if you want a good tattoo, especially irezumi.
My husband and I stopped here on a whim- we have a tradition of getting a tattoo in the area we’re staying in and we happened upon Visual Tattoo. After reading the reviews, we called and it just so happened that Dean had a last minute cancellation and could tattoo us. The shop has a cool eclectic vibe and Dean was awesome! We talked the whole time we were there and he understood exactly what we were wanting and delivered! Our tattoos were a simple phrase in a typewriter font and we are both extremely happy with the outcome! We would both highly recommend Dean for any of your tattoo needs! So happy we stumbled across him- it felt like it was meant to be!

Scurfield had put in a solar panel system for my wife and I about 6 years ago which helped with our electricity bill tremendously. So 6 years later we had some issues with a couple of our panels not working correctly. I called Scurfield and told them the problem. They sent someone out to troubleshoot the issues. After thinking it could one thing, parts were ordered. In the meantime, our whole home dehumidifier got fried during one of many power outages we have where we live. I called Scurfield and asked if they dealt with home dehumidifiers and sure enough they did. They sent Steve out to take a look and then we were provided with an estimate and fair price for replacing the old one. After a couple of weeks, Reed and Spencer came out and started on the dehumidifier and also the solar panel problem. Two days later, we had a new dehumidifier up and running and all of the solar panel problems were fixed. The guys worked from the minute they got here until the end of each day. They were extremely nice and provided answers to all of our questions. They were very professional and at the end of the day made sure everything was cleaned up and neat just like when they arrived. My wife and I couldn't be happier with Ben Scurfield and his company and all of his employees that we came into contact with. Shout out to Ben, Steve, Eric, Wendy, Matt, Reed and Spencer. We would highly recommend them for any electrical, heating & air, dehumidifier and solar.

Woods Pest Control is a great business.
Our technician, who visits every month to preventativly treat outside our home, is very professional, friendly and courteous. He also does a wonderful job: even living in a big green space with plenty of potential 'pests', we don't have any in the house!
Once some ants started to come in during the rainy season, and we just called Woods Pest Control. Our technician came out the very next day to scope things out carefully & strategically place bait outside. The ants left quickly. If they hadn't, he said to let him know & he would return.
When some hornets built a nest over our front door, Woods Pest Control came that day to remove it, and we didn't have to be present.
Neither of these additional house calls cost us anything extra beyond our monthly preventative care rate.
Different homes must have different prices, but for our house it's $55 per month for all this, and it is worth it for the peace of mind and excellent, dependable service. We're glad my family recommended them!

I had a dental emergency at the height of COVID and Dr. Epperson went well out of his way to provide emergency help – he helped restore my smile. His admin team too also have been great to work with in helping me understand the best options for financing a complicated tooth fix. One of the only dentists office I've felt good about visiting. Cool posters on the ceiling too.

We have two LaMancha wethers that are very well taken care of by the vets at NCVH. The staff and vets at this hospital have been very responsive and available to help resolve any health issue that comes up for our pack goats Bill and Bob. I recommend this large animal veterinary hospital.
I started retirement two and a half years ago I need a vacation so I explored Northern Humboldt what a mistake my dog sniffed something up his sinuses I looked all around for a vet to help the price is way over the scale unbelievable insurance that doesn't for x-rays they couldn't go use the scope to go into the nose to look so my dog got him fisted develop the tumor passed away the services of veterinarians in Northern Humboldt way overpriced highway robbery for travelers the veterans are not very good way too young they need experience had to put my 14 and 1/2 year old dog down I'm never going back to Northern Humboldt bad juju people but there was this one veterinarian Sunday night 7:00 p.m. she was awesome she was very nice to my puppy Jack thank you for helping me putting my dog down we're back in Monterey in the yachty world today I go do a burial on a bluff looking over the ocean in Santa Cruz California thank you.

I visited Arcata from out of town and attended two different classes at Om Shala. Both were excellent! I signed up and paid for both online. The studio was spacious and peaceful. I hope to come back soon.

Sheer and utter bliss! During a 10 day road trip which included tons of hiking we decided to book the couples massage at the Spa by the Sea. It was transformative for me. Laurie is exceptionally gifted and as a LMT of over 25 years I know talent when I find it. She has a gift and it goes to her very core. My body felt honored and restored and my mind was calmed and focused. Jamie worked on my partner in crime (and adventure) and while he is not as experienced as me or has the background to know things the way I KNOW them; he was very happy and relaxed. He was very appreciative of her style even if he can’t put his finger on why. Tiffany (owner) was so great with communication. Finally, the location was amazing. We finished right at sunset and it was so beautiful. Such a special and perfect experience! It was exactly what we needed!

Really happy to have found this spot. Very convenient location. The place has a serene atmosphere. The massage therapist was really nice and checked multiple times the pressure was good and adjusted accordingly. I walked away feeling refreshed and less achy.

I’ve tried chiropractic & massage methods to alleviate pain over the years but Rolfing with Emily has been the best method by far. I really messed up my shoulder climbing to where I had no mobility in my neck and after an hour session, I could rotate my neck in all directions giving me tremendous relief. I've been getting massages from Libby for many years. Her massage studio is quiet, warm and welcoming. She is patient and sympathetic to my complaints of aches and pains from life with scoliosis and seems to know intuitively how to relieve what ails me. Tara is an amazing herbalist and Doctor who will do a very thorough intake, prescribe sometimes homemade herbal remedies, and research your treatment with care. She's a true healer. It's obvious she's passionate about her work because of the effort and focus she puts on patients. She's uniquely skilled as an herbalist and is even starting to offer herbal classes, which I'm excited to explore. For internal medicine, she's really top notch as an acupuncturist. Recommended.
