“My Experience with Alex Perez Roofing (APR)
APR was priced competitively, but it was all the little things that made the big difference.
I set up an appointment for April 15, 2024, to meet with APR. The estimator was on time, well dressed and well groomed. With a ready smile, he politely shook my hand and introduced himself. To my surprise it was Alex Perez himself. He patiently followed me around the house while I showed him all of the issues I noticed. He asked questions and politely waited for my reply. He then let me know that he wanted to investigate the roof a bit more. Once he finished, he knocked on the door and said that he had all he needed and that I would be getting a quote soon. I received it in 2 days.
I asked Alex if we could meet to discuss the quote, so he could clarify some things. Since I work near his office, he stayed late to accommodate me. When I arrived, he treated me like I was an honored guest, and he had all the time in the world to spend answering my questions. He answered all my questions with the same patience and politeness. I knew he was my contractor. He said that his scheduler will be calling me with details of the installation.
I was called the next day and was set up to start the day after Memorial Day. He even had inspection days lined up.
Alex gave me an extra week to choose my roof color – this is the part I dread. Alex arranged for me to come by his office to look at samples. One of the samples from the brochure was not available, so his helper drove somewhere to get it and within 7 minutes returned with the sample. The people in the office were so helpful in helping me choose.
Between the color choosing and start date Alex called to say that something I wanted was not available and offered an alternative suitable solution. He wanted to make sure that I received exactly what I ordered.
The start day arrived. The crew showed up, knocked on my door and let me know that they were here to start working if that was ok with me. The foreman walked with me around the house and let me know what I should move away from the house and even helped me move the items. They then placed tarps all around the house and overlapped them. Once the tarps were in place, they climbed on the roof and commenced to removing the roof. When they finished, they told me they were leaving, and that the installation crew would arrive in about an hour. I looked around the house and didn’t find on piece of paper, roof or nails. They cleaned very well.
The installation crew showed up, knocked on my door to let me know they had arrived and asked if it was ok to start work. Alex drove up to see the progress, talk to the guys and ask me if I was pleased with the progress. I told him that I was impressed that he said what he was going to do and did what he said he would do. At the end of the day, the crew cleaned up – no trash, no little papers, and their tools were neatly stacked. Again, a polite knock on my door to let me know they were leaving and would return at 7am the next day.
The next day, the same knock on the door at promptly 7am. The crew went to work at a steady pace. Alex came by to check on the progress and asked if I was pleased with the progress. I noticed that the crew didn’t work any differently when he was there watching. Again, they cleaned up, even sweeping the decks and concrete pads in front of doors.
This daily pattern repeated until the work was finished on time and no change orders.
A neighbor came over and said that he found nails on the ground for a month after he had his roof done.
It’s been 3 months since APR completed the job and I still haven’t found a nail!

This company (Juan) was able to explain how all the other companies had basically provided a bandaid without dealing with the actual underlying issue. “After having my solar panels cleaned, the company that did the service said that one of my panels was "arcing" and needed to be replaced or at least disconnected before it affected the rest of my system. Plus, they wanted to charge me over $1500, just for the "simplest" plan of disconnecting the panel. I found Citadel after an online search, and Eric at Citadel was able to look online at my system's energy production. He could see that the one panel, although compromised, was still producing energy and did NOT need to be replaced. Eric was also VERY helpful with suggestions that helped me to get my system reporting data again to Enphase for the grand total of $25 that I paid to buy a WiFi extender at Eric's recommendation. My system hadn't been reporting data for quite some time, and I wasn't able to diagnose the issue on my own.
