“Booking Brides Nest was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I first noticed that the owner, Stephanie, works a lot with our photographer, @antonioprophoto. Because our photographer was such a joy to work with, we had a feeling Stephanie would be amazing as well. Her Instagram account showed pictures of beautiful brides with soft glam makeup. As soon as I visited her website, I knew that she was not only a talented makeup artist but also an organized, transparent business owner. She made her pricing readily available (I didn't have to contact her separately about it), and I was able to instantly figure out if she was available on our wedding day. The booking process alone made it easy for me to decide to work with Brides Nest.

I was able to schedule my trial on the day of my engagement photo shoot. Stephanie listened to my thoughts on the soft glam look I would like for myself, asked me how my makeup looks on a daily basis, and took into consideration the type of makeup I do not prefer. She was down-to-earth and fun to chat with! It was clear that she enjoys what she does, which goes a long way when you book any vendor. Thanks to Stephanie, my makeup looked amazing in all the photos, and it lasted several hours without requiring a touch-up. This definitely helped because we did our shoot at Griffith Observatory around sunset and dusk, so I had no time to look at myself. My hair stayed put throughout the entire session as well. I appreciated that she recommended using extensions.

We still have a few months to go for our wedding, and working with Stephanie is making the process much less chaotic for us. She is quick to respond to all of our questions. She was more than happy to schedule another trial session for me because I'm still not sure if I want to put my hair up or down on the big day. She'll also be doing a trial for my husband.

“I recently came here to get a hair cut and touch up on my balayage. Maria was so welcoming. As soon as you enter, you will notice the super warm and clean environment. I typically have super long thick hair, but it literally felt a pound lighter after my hair cut. Maria is also the coolest person you will meet and she is always asking you on what you think about it. She truly think about you and I definitely have my fair share of horror stories of salon. Some people will cut your hair 5 inches when you really only wanted 2 inches. Maria will show you and ensure you feel comfortable about it. She is amazing!!“

He gives the best haircuts I have had in all my decades. My wife is very happy with his coloring, cutting, and styling. He left for a few years to care for his aging parents. But now he is back and is as good as ever. Like his Arcadia shop, his new shop in Monrovia is nicely situated, very clean, and tastefully decorated. Allen is a gentleman and really enjoyable company. Try him out. You will appreciate his talent and enjoy having your hair done by him.“

I've been going to her for a few years, and even after moving out of the 626 area, I drive back to Theressa because I trust her artistry, attention to detail, care, and communication. She expertly understands the limits of hair and chemicals, and will be clear and honest with setting expectations based on hair condition. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted, but with remnants of a perm and grown out single hair color from last year. I showed Theressa some ideas of what I wanted, and she guided me to find something my hair could handle -- which in this case was with a bit of bleach (too much would've damaged my hair), and a different color than I had in mind, but I think turned out better than the pictures I brought. Theressa is patient and really listened to me. She took care to analyze how the hair color would compliment my skin tone & how the cut would frame my face, and guided me through the entire process.
