I have United Health Care for insurance. I made an appointment two weeks in advance. They have an office in El Cajon and one in Alpine. My appointment was on a Wed because they are in Alpine on Wed. I arrived early to a dirt lot. Walked in and the girl at the desk said your not covered with UHC. When I made the appointment they asked me for my card number and everything was fine. I immediately called UHC they said you are covered even if they were out of network.

As of a few years ago, Dr. David Joseph took over Bright Smile Dental Care and I must say, the four times I have been to the dentist in the last two years have been the least painful of all my prior experiences. The staff was courteous and the doctor went over all possible options with me then left me to decide what I thought was best for me. I've had all my silver fillings replaced with white ones and it has completely changed my smile. My last visit, I had my teeth whitened and six months later, I am still getting complements on how white my smile is. Glad I found a great dentist. Highly recommended.

Ok, so I went back to get my fillings done and overall it went well. Again, everyone was super nice and made me feel comfortable. He ended up redoing my whole right side both bottom and top by taking out the silver fillings and replacing them with white. The entire process was really quick, I was out of there in about an hour which was impressive. He did a good job at numbing me because I felt no pain. Just a little discomfort a few times, which is nothing out of the ordinary. So overall a good experience. My only complaints were when I went home, I almost couldn't floss in one area due to the new fillings. He tried diligently to make sure that he had filed them down well but missed an area I guess. I think this could have been avoided if he had flossed my teeth while I was at the office (which I plan on suggesting when I go back). But anyway, after some work, I was able to floss in that area...so I guess that's ok. My next concern is that I have been in a little pain over the past few days following my appointment. To a point where I have had to take medication three times a day to alleviate the pain. But, is that on them? Not necessarily. It's probably cause I have bad teeth :) But anyway, I appreciate the fact that he did the fillings first rather than automatically declaring that I needed a root canal, crowns, or some other bank breaking procedure. I'm willing to wait it out a bit more before bringing it to his attention and seeing if we may need to consider another course of action. So needless to say, I'm still on the fence. I have another appointment in a few weeks so I think by then I'll have my mind made up on whether I'm a true fan of this practice.
