Living near the Bay has ramped up my hair curl more than it ever used to, but I honestly didn’t know how to work with it. Jennifer and her daughter Maya (who does the shampooing and “noodling”) were both calm, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. They used clean, low-tox products that actually worked with my curls—no heaviness, no damage, just soft, bouncy definition that still felt like my hair. They also took the time to explain what they were doing and shared practical at-home tips, including a non-wash-day refresher routine that feels doable. The space itself is cozy and thoughtful—fresh tea, flavored water, little candies up front—and there’s even a sweet chihuahua mix (Nina) who’ll curl up in your lap if you’re open to it. It felt unhurried and genuinely caring. I only wish I could budget getting my hair washed and “noodled” more often. If you’re in the East Bay and have natural curls—or you’re just looking for low-tox products that actually perform—this place is a quiet little gem.
