Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa

Someone gifted me three services here. It was nice. Ambience is "professional corporate massage". The people at the front desk are attentive and friendly, and they will give you tea or naturally flavored water. I dinged them a star for two reasons: 1. Of the three services I had, the experience was definitely hit and miss depending on who you get. I had a massage and two facials. They were all fine, but two were much better than the third. So I think it probably pays to look at reviews here on Yelp and try to figure out who the best, people are and set your appointments up with them. 2. They also do a ridiculous amount of upsell and you have to be very clear with them about what the cost of those upsells are and be very clear and definitive about saying no if you don't want to jack up the cost of your treatment. They're very pushy about it. I'm sure they're being told to do that by the owners. It's more than a little annoying. They offer discounts for purchasing multiple services in advance, I think it's worth it. I'll go back.

I really enjoy my time at Hand and Stone Alameda CA. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. Facials- (fourth visit) Jamelle is wonderful. Very nice, and calm. She is also very knowledgeable, and we discussed my skincare needs. I have allergies, so she checked the ingredients of all of the products to make sure they were safe for me. Her technique is very soothing, and I feel very relaxed. My skin is definitely starting to improve. Massage (first visit) Dominique is an amazing massage therapist. She is very outgoing, smiley, and friendly. She is also very accepting of your concerns, anxieties, etc. She is very knowledgeable, and provided information that I have never been given from any other massage therapist. She studies to learn about different medical conditions and how she can help. The massage was perfect, and I will continue to see her. I highly recommend both of these amazing women.

The associates were friendly and exhibited great customer service. Wendy was awesome, and knew exactly where my pressure points were located to focus on these areas. Looking forward to my next appointment!
