I booked myself and my child a mani-pedi spa day and the staff were friendly and professional from start to finish. It was a relaxing environment but the lounge was very dark inside- calming, but felt a bit cramped (luckily we were the only ones in there,) and had tea, water, and snacks. Unfortunately, they were nuts and my child had a bit allergy (which I thought was odd that it was so freely open. The only warning they had was on the paperwork that asked about nut allergies, but they didn't tell us there were nuts in the lounge area!) The ladies that did our nails were very kind, but the room they did it in was a bit odd. I felt like I was going to my OBGYN instead of a spa. The selection of colors seemed smaller than other salons I've been to, but we both picked our colors. The service seemed mediocre and I didn't really feel refreshed or relaxed. The massage was lacking, my hands and feet didn't feel moisturized, the nail polish had bubbles, wasn't evenly distributed, cuticles weren't cut or cleaned... All this was over $200!!! A few days and my nail polish is already chipping and cuticles look like they weren't even touched! I'm so mad that I paid this amount at a place that supposedly calls itself a luxury spa but it's giving amateur beauty school results. I was comparing this spa to my local nail salon which is a quarter of the price and they don't charge $55 for a child's pedicure!!
While therapists do a good job, this spa doesn't compete with other too spas in the city.while their website boasts access to the pool, it fails to mention this is only weekdays and only with 90 minute treatments, and if you book over the phone you won't be alerted to this. The longe area has perching benches, suitable for a few minutes wait for your treatment, but wholly inadequate for relaxing before or after. So if you're going here, go only for the treatment, if you want a full spa experience go elsewhere..
A location that advertises RMT yet does not staff accordingly in high season in a community that is full of RMT practitioners is unacceptable for both the hotel brand and spa prospective guests. Don't plan your travels at this iconic hotel IF you seek spa services until you actually call this spa to see if they actually staffed the place accordingly. False advertising RMT's should be a primary core of business and no excuses for no staff or just give the contract to a deserving spa that represents the hotel brand as a destination with services.
