Went in to get a Dell high end monitor. The saleman tried to sell me the extended warranty not knowing the products comes with a three year manufacture warranty already! Its tricky to shop at Best Buy, you better study first.
We went there in the morning. The two employees who stood by the entrance were unwelcoming - the female employee glared at us and the male employee looked away. They were discouraging people to come and shop. Did the manager know this? It was early in the morning and the store was not busy at all, but they had people paying at the Geek Squad department while we were waiting for the service at Geek Squad. Also, they did not make two separate queues for the cashier and for the Geek Squad so it was confusing for customers. Two employees, therefore, came to us one after the other to ask about us. Customers always pay by the entrance. It was odd to see that they had the sales associates work as the cashiers at the Geek Squad while the store was vacant. There was only one employee working at the Geek Squad so we needed to wait. We waited for quite a long time but the Geek Squad employee was helpful.
The Geek Squad services are very expensive for very disappointing results. I dropped off a malfunctioning external hard drive for data recovery. Even though I was told I would be contacted within a week after drop off, nobody did. I called them twice and went to the store twice and nobody was able to give me a status update. When I finally received the new hard drive a month later, I realized that lots of the supposedly recovered files were actually empty (only icons but no data attached to them). I lost quite a bit of data and money through that process.
