I really wanted to like this place.. I really did.. it was the worst haircut and color I've ever recieved. I felt deceived to be honest. I was searching for so long for a good Japanese hair stylist and I saw Yuka's instagram and decided to book with her. Her instagram page's photos look great and she seemed very experienced with coloring. My request was not too hard since I didn't want any crazy color, just a cold toned brown. I've done this color before and my stylist didn't have to bleach it at all, even with my virgin black hair. Yuka suggested that I bleach my hair to get that color of brown. The first time she bleached it, it was extremely orange, I looked like a pumpkin! It took her a long while to do my hair because she underestimated how much bleach my hair needed and because of that, my hair was uneven. It was blonde on the bottom and orange on the top and she decided to start coloring it. The first time I couldn't believe it, I asked if she finished coloring it and she said yes, I was shocked because it looked nothing like the picture I provided.. it was literally orange/red. I felt so bad and guilty to tell her to fix it because already over 5 hours have passed, I wanted to cry. But honestly I hated it. I am tanned asian but I am not warm tone, so orange looks super horrible on me! She colored it once more with the brown but it is still really bright orange and too warm! It ended up taking almost 7 hours for Yuka to color my hair.. I felt so bad that she had to do my hair so long that although I hated it, I had to suck it up and go pay the bill :( She cut it even worse.. she didn't cut any hair to frame my face and just super thick side bangs that look like the style from 2010s.. and my hair is super choppy, damaged, and uneven. The cut is so horrible I can't even put it in a bun or pony tail bc she messed up the part that frames my face and I just look like an egg. Even when washing my hair, she was washing so aggressively I wanted to cry because she was pulling my hair too much.. and the water was so hot it burned me too.. the cost came out to over $400 and we gave 20% tip because we felt bad but now since I returned back home I just want to cry. I've been so sad and insecure every time I look in the mirror and I don't even want to show my mother in law because everyone has been laughing at me. I feel scammed for a job that I could've done by myself with box hair dye. I can't even go back to the salon to request them to fix it because #1 Yuka already damaged my hair and bleached it when the end result was already so dark and warm that bleaching it was a big regret. I don't wanna dye my hair again because my virgin black hair is RUINED. And #2, I don't live in Vancouver. I live in seattle and had to drive 3 hours up to the salon just to get disappointed. I feel horrible writing this review because Yuka did spend a lot of time on my hair, but I honestly think it was because of lack of experience. Although I had mentioned before my hair is very long, thick, and dark. I hope that the salon can reach out to me for some sort of refund or compensation, because this is the worst haircut/color I've ever received and my hair is absolutely ruined... it took me 3 years to grow out my hair long and black, now it will take forever and YEARS to get rid of this orange.

It is been almost a year since my last visit due to COVID. Today Mai is my stylist. She is experienced but very humble. Result is over my expectation and I will for sure book my next haircut with her again in 2 months:) I cannot find another hair salon provide such good Japanese style short hair cut. It worth a drive of 35 min for one way. Appreciate their attitudes towards clients.

Acqua or CUE hair salon, is great. With above and beyond service possible you could get.Chikako was awesome! I got my perm just right, can't ask for more!!Strongly recommend for whoever that wanna look for hair salon but don't know where to go.
