“I always walk away from the massage tables feeling better than I walked in! Taylor and Taryn are magicians, their knowledge and care are top level. I would highly recommend them but then it would be even harder to book in, so I recommend their colleagues ;)“
“Krissy works her magic on me every time I go to see her, she is very knowledgeable in her craft! I can’t wait to try out her new laser services!“
“This is a long story. If you want to skip the preamble and the story the conclusion is Dr. Charlene Howard is flipping fantastic and if you have any issues, you should be seeing her if you live in the Squamish area.
The Story:
Sunday I woke up in such horrible pain. When I mean horrible pain I mean I can't stand up, I can't walk, I can't sit up, I can't crawl, screaming and crying "WHY ME GOD!" are perfectly reasonable solutions. Tylenol took the pain from a 10/10 to 9.9/10, that's with two extra strength pills. It's a back issue that I have, never had it this bad.
Chiropractor, dear God I need a chiropractor. Any chiropractor with lower back experience, closer is better because I'm not sure how far I can drive, or at least sit in the back and not pass out. Fun Fact: NO Chiropractors work on Sunday, or in an Emergency basis. I got everyone's answering services, spoke with very nice people who told me confidently I could talk to a chiro in the morning, Monday.
Now you see Monday I have to go to my father's funeral, at a Catholic Church (lots of standing, sitting, some kneeling) which so far seems more like an aspirational goal less so than a realistic one. My sister not to leave anything to chance tells me Sunday night, "You can give the eulogy". I thought for who at this point, dad or me?
Back to random dialing a chiropractor. Most were booked and the earliest appointment was well late end of day or later that week.
I finally get to a listing for Dr. Charlene Howard, we are talking page 2 search engine stuff on the Google box, I'm that desperate.
Dr. Charlene picks up the phone and politely asks who is calling her on her personal cell. Or work cell I never asked. I explain the situation. She politely asks if she can finish her coffee and then meet me a half hour before the clinic is open, at 8:30am as opening is at 9am. I respect coffee, and ergo her decision. It's not every day some random loon blathers on about funeral eulogy needing an emergency adjustment before 11am. I need coffee at least.
I hobble to my car, note walking without falling over is ramping the pain to a solid 10.5/10. I drive myself carefully down to Tantalus. I gaze upon the steps at the front as a hiker may appraise Mt.Everest. I have decidedly chosen to toss dignity out the window.
What should take a normal person a few seconds is a Herculean effort of about 10 minutes to get up the front steps. I curse Howard Stairs, the inventor of stairs (don't google it I haven't optimized the search algorithm). I politely knock on the door, then chalking up years of experience test the door, and wedge myself through it. I sit down which felt about as good as winning the lottery.
A really nice lady, Dr. Charlene Howard, walks in. We exchange pleasantries. Keep in mind that I have a fairly good working knowledge of what is wrong with my back (MRI recently shed some light as to what a car accident can do to a person). She has some tests, I fill out the new patient form, as I describe what my regular chiropractor in Calgary does. She also had some great tricks up her sleeve as well and adjusts my back.
I could describe the feeling of the adjustment akin to jumping into Alice Lake on those hot plus 25 days in the summer. Then more pain, but no longer acute increasing pain, but more like mildly subsiding pain. To be clear I walked in at 10.5/10 walked out in a 8/10, better than Tylenol.
Long story to an end; the adjustment enabled me to walk, more importantly stand and give by all accounts people's favorite eulogy they'd heard in a while (I say it was easy, dad was pretty inspirational).
I felt bad, that kind of customer experience is God Tier in today's vanilla experiences I've had.
