“Update: edited to 4 stars because they finally dealt with the issue.

We are extremely dissatisfied with the service. The technician made a huge mistake and blew soot all over our suite, which was a mistake and could have easily been rectified with a cleaner. However, the comfort group then expected me to hire a cleaner, which was practically impossible due to the emergent nature of the issue and the extent of the damage. I had to do much of the cleaning myself. They then assured me they would reimburse me for the cleaning and the cost of putting my tenant in a hotel. It has now been 10 weeks, I have received very little communication from the business, and I still have not been reimbursed ( to the tune of close to a thousand dollars). I will never use the comfort group again and I strongly advise against their services.“

“Most homeowners have a renovation story. This one has a happy ending. For context, our reno was all interior and mostly cosmetic, but extensive. We updated every surface of the home including a redesigned kitchen and primary bathroom and added several architectural details.
Reno’s take time and usually run over budget. It’s impossible to know all the challenges you will face until you see what’s behind the walls, ceiling and floors. Add to this, the challenge of getting the trades you need, precisely when you need them. While not easy to manage, as home owners we still expect good quality workmanship completed in a timely manner.
Our project turned out beautifully with Alair Homes. Yes, it took extra time to complete but there were contributing factors including changes to the scope by us. From start to finish we had strong confidence in the people and process of Alair. Stu Hopewell and his team have a talented network of subtrades. They kept an open and honest dialogue with us throughout the project. The Alair process includes real-time access to the project spend and transparent view of each sub trade and supplier invoice which provided further comfort. Alair also took full accountability when a couple things didn’t go as promised and were very reasonable in resolving them to our satisfaction.
No renovation or contractor is perfect but this is our 5th major Reno and we can confidently say Alair has been one of the best.
It comes down to the people. Stu and his team are skilled and trustworthy - the two most critical requirements for any home renovation project. If you are considering a Reno, we highly recommend Alair.“

“I hired Clark Pacific excavating to dig the foundation and install perimeter drains for a project I was doing. They were on time and on budget. They have an amazing assortment of machines at their disposal, including one of the biggest dump trucks in Nanaimo. When we ran into excavating into sandstone, Ken had the answer and it didn’t deter him. The project maintained its schedule and its budget. Ken is very personable and easy to work with. I would work with Clark Pacific Excavating for all my projects. Thank you team for the great effort and see you next time.“
