Customer service is absolutely atrocious, seemingly deliberate in order to extort more money from customers. Shipped stuff from childhood from Australia to Canada for the sum of $1200. Was charged an additional $428 "box search fee" at Canada. When I spoke to customs they said my container had NOT been selected for additional inspection and therefore should not have been subject to the additional fee. I followed Seven Seas instructions, then wrote to them SEVEN TIMES to confirm that I had cleared the customs paperwork at the appointed office and didn't understand why I was receiving messages from them that I was still being charged for storage. They declined to answer ANY email, resulting in a $225 charge from Canadian customs that the shipping company refused to waive as a result of their shitty customer service. I paid the extortionate fee, and wrote to them again TWICE to say I had completed the fees and paperwork, that I could not find out how to book the final delivery via their website, and that the link they gave simply forwarded to the wrong page. I requested that they do not AGAIN decline to answer my emails resulting in more extortionate fees. They AGAIN declined to answer my emails. Luckily after a few days of trying I managed to find the correct procedure myself and make they booking- they still never replied to my email. I will say that though I haven't finished unpacking yet my items seem to have arrived in good repair. I will attribute this mostly to my skill as a prefessional mover and set dresser in the film industry for the past 7 years. I guess that's the most important thing about their service- but be prepared for ATROCIOUS customer service and paying A LOT MORE than you are quoted. Will never use this company again.
We have used Sevenseas twice (2018&2019) between Canada and Australia and both experience was excellent. We used only boxes the first time - free packing supplies were delivered then picked up promptly. Communication was 5* as well and just about 90days we had them delivered at the destination. 2nd time we used a large moving cube - everything went smoothly as well.The only con is that door to door service doesn’t apply to too many locations outside of the big city/port area so a bit challenging if you are sending or picking up goods that are in another city.
I, like a few others it seems, have had a rather unpleasant experience with Seven Seas. The first delay we experienced was on pick-up, where we had to leave our belongings outside and leave to the airport because the driver did not arrive at the time agreed upon.Delivery was also a day late, after I had taken time off to receive the goods. Worst of all the agents (multiple different people handing my account) did not call me to say the delivery would be late.Goods arrived and one box was missing as well.Price was good, service not.
