Pet Groomers in Tucson

“I have used MANY groomers and mobile groomers around town. My one dog is an anxious ball of mess so it's been difficult finding someone she is comfortable with. However, she seems to have really taken to Balboa's, they are great with her...no sticking her in a crate, she is allowed to walk around with her more outgoing brother. My other dog, a cockapoo, always comes out looking so proud of himself for being the most handsome pupper on the block. The staff are great, there is absolutely nothing I can fault with Balboa's.“

“I adopted a cat a couple of weeks ago who isn’t in the best shape. She’s underweight (we’re working on it) and wasn’t grooming herself, so she was pretty scruffy. There were a lot of small mats in her fur that I couldn’t get out so I took her to Blue Cat Grooming. They did such a great job, all the mats were removed without sacrificing much surrounding fur. I have a whole new cat, I had no idea her ears were so pink! When I picked her up, she was clearly very relaxed and friendly, so they treated her well. I’d definitely recommend coming here with your newly adopted cat!“

“He looked so cute! Lucky seemed relaxed when he came back which is important. The haircut is just what I asked for and he smelled great for an affordable price. Not sure if details like ear hair, nails ect. was looked at but I was squeezed in last minute and forgot to ask so I'm very happy:)“

“Olive and I love this place. Everyone is so nice. Shelley and Valerie, Kim and Jason and Kaitlyn, Olive's groomer. Olive is always excited to get out of the car and runs right up to the door. She knows she will come out looking her best and feeling good. I originally thought the price was a little high but over the time I have had this pup, I have looked around and even Pet Smart is pretty much the same price once you add in the things that are automatic with Sol Dog. So we will continue to go where we are both happy.“

“Initial review: It was a very subpar experience in general. I called to schedule my appointment, and then called back the same day to change the time. On the day of, I found out they never changed my appointment to the time I wanted. That was fine, they still took my dog, but they definitely made me feel like it was my mistake rather than their mistake.

I told them what I wanted with the cut, they never wrote anything down. And overall it just felt like the cut was insufficient. The hair was too long on the face, the eyebrows (even though I said cut it so he doesn’t have “eyebrows”), the ears, all of it, hair was too long after the cut everywhere. And then when I got home I realized his nails weren’t trimmed at all. Since when does full grooming not include nail trim?! Now I have to pay extra to take my dog somewhere else to get his nails trimmed. Definitely not going back.

Update: the owner Josh called me the next day after reading the initial review. He apologized for missing the nail trim and offered a refund. I didn’t want a refund, he did do the work and gave my dog a haircut. But I wanted it fixed. I brought my dog back 2 days later and got his nail trimmed. He also trimmed his face some more, and explained to me that the blade I was used to was shorter than the 1/2 inch that I asked for. So my bad. I gotta say, something that surprised me was that my dog didn’t run for the door when I brought him back. And he usually does that from all the groomers he had encountered before. So my dog likes this place, and that says a lot! And the owner really went above and beyond to make it right.“

“We were so lucky to find Auntie Cathy while we were in Tucson this past month. We could tell Tawny loved going here by the way she would pull to get into the house and see our friends. Cathy was amazing in her approach to making sure Tawny adapted to being there. The place is incredibly well set up for the pups. It’s clear Auntie Cathy loves each pup. “Joleen is Wonder Woman ! My little Lucy is a stubborn little brat and screamed her face off literally the entire time and this woman handled her with such patience and strength. I love that she gave my pup the same sass she was dishing out to Joleen. She even gave me some advice on how to help make trimming the nails easier. Happy to have found someone who is willing to work with my stubborn pup. We will be regulars here for sure!“

“My 9 year old Golden Retriever looks very mice after being groomed yesterday. The dog has major separation anxiety but she was happy with these ladies. They are a joy to work with Be aware they don’t take credit cards.“

“This is my first time going here and we have a husky, he kept screaming before they came to get us for his shots and the minute they were handling him they knew exactly what to do to calm him down. 100% going back as it made me really happy to see they knew exactly how to calm him and they did it as gently as possible, the workers are friendly and easy to talk to also and really glad I choose to go here.“

“I have a one year old puppy named Yote and needed to find a trustworthy place to take him for daycare and boarding. This is very important to me since my dog is like my best friend and isn't just a dog to me. He is a very important part of my family. After doing some research I chose Dogtopia in Tucson Az on Tanque Verde. I stopped in to say hello to get a feel for the atmosphere. The person behind the desk was very polite kind and understood exactly what I was looking for. We set up a meet and greet. The meet and greet went extremely well. When I brought him in a staff member met him in the lobby. She kneeled down and to my surprise, my dog ran over and started giving her kisses. I knew right then and there this was the place for him. The staff absolutely loves dogs and if my dog could see and feel it, I was in. I started Yote on day care one day a week, then added a second day. During this time I had concerns about him being comfortable and going potty while outside of his environment. I must say, the staff is amazing! They go above and beyond. They sent me a text and called to let me know he was able to go potty and was making new friends in his class called beach. One time when I went to pick him up, I was waiting for him to come out. His coach was in the lobby. When Yote came out, I said his name and expected him to run over to me like he always does, only this time he ran to his coach and gave her kisses. Then he came over to say hi to me. I was so happy to know he loves his coaches very much! Then there was the time I picked him up and was given a very nice report card saying he was the coaches positive for the day! I Absolutely love the feedback on his day. He is now doing overnights while we take short trips. They are very accommodating and made sure I knew to bring my dogs bed and two safe favorite toys. They also go to great lengths to make sure Yote eats and is happy and comfortable. I love it! I have now interfaced with at least five staff members as well as the Manager and assistant manager. Each of them are compassionate and love all the dogs as if they are their own. I couldn't ask for a better, safer place to take my best friend. This experience has brought back memories and feelings of when I was taking my kids to their first daycare. What a great feeling knowing my dog is in great hands! “I had an emergency with one of my chickens who was egg bound! I tried everything to get her back to health and nothing worked. I called Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital and they were able to get her in the same day. To say the least they saved my girl and I can't thank them enough. The team was highly professional and knowledgeable. They are extremely helpful and answered all my questions. I HIGHLY recommend this place!“
