As long as Shamika is cutting hair in the valley, she will be my go-to girl!! I have never had such an amazing experience getting my hair cut, for several reasons. I have curlier hair and it's been a struggle over the years, to the point I started trimming it on my own. At this point, I just wanted a pick-me-up from a professional. She did just that, and more. I was super anxious walking in, and she just put me at ease. She was gentle, considerate, and professional. She didnt rip my earrings out with her comb, she didnt cut off more than I asked, and she really cared about me as a person. The game changer for me was that she actually offered to style my hair curly/natural. I have never in my life been offered to have my hair styled naturally. In the past it's either been a blow out, or just leave with it wet, no other options. However, Shamika asked what kind of styling I preferred, if any, and she even educated me, in a thoughtful way, on what the best products are for my hair. I've been scrunching mousse only yall; y2k called me & wanted that ish back!! Lol I needed some help! I'm so happy I found Shamika and Glam Ave. She is truly a hair angel! I will definitely be back.

I had an amazing experience with Shamika this past week getting my hair done. Growing up, my mom was a hairstylist, so I've always been incredibly picky with who does my hair. I had NO WORRIES with Shamika. She was prepared with knowing exactly what I wanted, offered suggestions on how I could achieve my hair goals, and asked me each step of the way before continuing transforming my hair. She has a very clean space, is incredibly friendly and down to earth, and was fun to chat with! I have found my new hair stylist here in Surprise!!
