i recommend brightstar care especially if you want to age in your own home. ms chris, the nurse carefully assesses your needs and the caring and hardworking caretakers, especially mw norma and ms fatimahelp you arrange your home and clothes so you can continue to stay clean, have a clean home, warm meals and a caring compassionate pprofessional caretakeras often as necessary to live a good life. today, oct 30, ms norma finished my laundry helped me tske a bedbath and change into clean clothes, brush my teeth, brush my hair and fix my braids. Ms Borma swept and moped my tile flooir where slippery and mopped so my bathroom tiles were clean and not sticky from my incontinence accident. together we put my underwear bras and diabetic socks in the drawers i can eaily reach in my wheelchair. i have left sided paralysis but can b mobilr in my chair and am strong enough to stand and transfer. Ms Norma put my useable pants where i can see them and separated summer from warmer winter pants where i can see them, hung my favorite long sleeve shirts and hoodies where i can see them and choose them to wear. working together i can help the other caretakers from brightstar keep my clothes organized so i can do some things on my own when i do not have anyone assigned. i have someonassigned a few times a week and that keeps me and my home clean and meals prepared in my fridge ii can grab and warm in the microwave. my fridge is blessed with fresh veggies ms normsa packed into small tupperware for healthy snacks. all of the brightsrar caretakers come to my home keep me clean, my home clean and move obstacles to my mobility, make sure my trash is taken out, help me read my medicine bottlesand open them because i dont always like to use pillboxes. like almost all of the caretakers, she picks up where others have left off and takes me to church as wellas to get my medicines like ms krystal and they care for me and my organization better than i used to b able to do for myself. they are trained in mobility dafety, my wheelchair brakes slip and i do not have a new one from my insurance but they hold my chair when i am transferring and help me stretch and keep my range of motion and use my gait belt when i want to practice mobility with my cane, they get rid of the science experiments if i do not eat my meals in time, wash and prep my raw fruits and veggies. their help and company is priceless. ms. Norma puts life back into my days, and i no longer spend hours looking for my favorite clean clothes and wastwe less money buying duplicates because i can find and take care of what i have. those who have helped me most compassionately and professiobnally are ms tammie j, ms fatima, ms annaliese, ms irene, psuline and even new trainees, ms sariah trained by the wonderful ms krystal. the office is fantastic, ms Isso keeps mw covered when my schedule changes, ms Viola matches caretakers and clients. i am so blessed to have brightstar, i urge you to reconsider if you are considering assisted living and bring brightstar into your home. i am truely blessed despite my disability, with the brightsrar caretakers, eonderful neighbors and help from Hope incor[porated day program and the best transportation to my medical appts from AZ World express, THE VETERANS HEALING CENTER, VANTER, and ms julia henry from Women Warriors.
The staff and caregivers are very professional and caring. My Dad is 96 years young and has moderate Alzheimer’s. I can always count on my Dad’s caregiver, Sylvia D, to be here on time and be patient and compassionate with my Dad. She will talk to him about what he is reading as well as watching on TV to keep up his verbal and cognitive skills. Sylvia takes care of helping him around the house, within the limits of his care plan, which keeps him in a familiar environment. She monitors his blood pressure, food intake and feeds him a healthy diet. Her observations are highly valued and assist with short and long term health and care decisions. Sylvia is a true professional that can be counted on to care for a treasured family member.
