We have been using Oak Creek Animal Clinic for 9 years, first with our now elderly near-end-of life golden doodle Linus, and now also with a new golden doodle puppy. We have worked with 3 different vets there. Over many years, we've used vet clinics in Maryland, Florida and Maine. I can easily say that our experiences with Oak Creek have always been high quality in terms of vet knowledge and skills, and in their interpersonal behavior both with us and our dogs. Linus has had three emergencies requiring surgeries. They handled the two (one was a potentially deadly, bleeding anal tumor done on a Saturday) ) they have the capabilities for, quickly, competently and very humanely. They had to refer us to an orthopedic specialty vet in Flagstaff or Phoenix for the third surgery when Linus tore out his hip, but did so by describing the alternatives including capabilities and price differences to be expected. In all cases and on every other visit the vets went to great lengths to explain conditions, diagnoses, options, prognoses, etc etc. Desk staff and assistants have always been kind, gentle and helpful. Their prices are no more expensive than vets we've dealt with in the past. Having said that, everyone wishes medical care was less expensive. Have you checked out pet insurance? It's crazy expensive if you have a generally healthy dog. We recently started our new puppy's relationship with Oak Creek Small Animal. First checkup was great. Cost was $59.
I am so impressed and grateful to Dr. Page and the entire staff at the Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic! They were sensitive to my concerns, regarding my Chihuahua, and from the time I booked the appointment, to the day of my appointment, it was a pleasure. It's nerve wracking and frightening when your little 4 legged furry child is possibly not doing so good! I was so impressed with Silver, the Veterinarian Technician (essentially a nurse) who I spoke with once in the room, waiting for Dr. Page. He was kind, informative, professional and had a warmth about him. Dr. Page was also impressive! That day was a busy Sunday, with emergency visits, etc., so there is a lot of pressure there. Dr. Page was attentive, listened to my concerns, and had sound suggestions and options on how to go forward. He was professional, knowledgeable, and had a very good disposition, making it a comfort to talk with him about my little guy. I felt a sense of trust and felt like he cared, and took his work seriously. Dr. Page also called me to let me know the results of the lab work. I had missed that call, but heard the message he left. I called back, and left a message. He called me back the next day to discuss details of my Chihuahua's situation. Grateful and thankful for the great care my Chihuahua received, and how fantastic Deb and Christine were at the front desk. This is top notch customer service from people who obviously care. It is heartfully appreciated. The facility is clean, and well thought out! It has a warmth and a detail to it that reflects people that truly care about animals, and who go the extra mile to get that conveyed in the environment and design of the place, inside and out. And, gratefully, the news for my little guy was good news, I feel so grateful to this place and the wonderful staff! Thank you Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic!!!!! :)))))))
Dealing with pets is not easy, even when it is your profession. Owners can be sensitive, pretend to know everything there is to know about animals, etc. so I do not envy having to deal with the human part of the veterinary services. With that being said, we have been going to Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic since November 2020 and have received nothing but excellent service from everyone including the owner herself. To date we have done a spay surgery (half the price of what we were quoted before we moved to the area), nail trims, liver treatments, and we have walked away happy, and more importantly our dog always ends up better. The facilities are new, the staff personable, the breakdown of costs easily explained; it's what you want in a clinic. If you are going to pretend and be Cesar Milan, save yourself the money and just treat your pet yourself. If you respect medical professionals and care to get treatment, this is your place!
