Everything is drawn out to long process and you have to visit the branch to get things done, I went to visit the branch and after spending 40 minutes there they said everything was done and I would get a call back once it’s through within 3-4 days.They never called back so 2 weeks later I called to ask and was told nothing in the process was done and I have to go back

I'm getting my IRA out of this place. It was in tdameritrade for 15 years and schwab took over. 2 days ago I called them to ask a generic question not even about my account. I hadn't even tried to log into my account.. Apparently my phone # kicks in and they wanted to 'verify' me. I said NO...I just have a quick generic question. The guy told me, 'sorry if you don't let us verify you, then I will have to lock down your account.' So he locked it down and today I tried to get it unlocked over the phone. They asked questions about the year of the car I owned 30 years ago! He put me on hold and after about 20 minutes I heard a click and I was transferred to someone locally. The previous guy said he would call me back if we got disconnected. HE DIDN"T. I just hung up after telling the local that I wasn't going to go through the verification again. So now I have to drive 18 miles to go verify myself in person. Too much. I want to be safe too but I WILL NEVER call a brokerage again to ask a generic question. You can't call from a different phone because they wont' wait on you. And I don't have a 2nd number anyway. VERY frustrating.

Never worked with such an inefficient company in my life! Their website stinks, hard to navigate and harder to make a trade. The worse part is now I have found out I will not get my 1099 tax form until at least the middle of March, they "may" send it out the last week of February. I can't get it on line, no way to get my 1099 until they send it out, apparently not until they feel like sending them out. Time to take my money and put it in a decent company.
