I was turned away by the post commander in 2003 when I moved from CA to AZ. I asked him in person if as someone with a politically liberal inclination I would be welcome, and he said NO. I understand that attitudes have since, (now circa April 2024) changed, becoming more "ecumenical," and that all veterans are welcome. Prejudice is an ugly thing. I intend to apply for membership again soon. I am a Vietnam veteran with disabling injuries from the war.
The Honor Guard was there for my husband

I have the utmost respect for this organization and it's mission. I have been involved with another VFW post and this whole organization does awesome things for their community and service men and women. GREAT ORGANIZATION, FRIENDLY PEOPLE!
