Billing department @ 480-210-5219 is ABSOLUTELY the WORST: 1. WAIT TIME 2. They cannot find your visit with the doctor within their system and almost fight with you that such visit did not happen, until they find it.....So ridiculous. They lady that picks up the phone does not truly understand her job. 3. For the 2nd time in a row they incorrectly billed my annual preventative care visit with my PCP. Optum is Horrible.
If I could leave zero stars, I would this is the worst customer service I believe I have ever received in my life. They do medical billing for my primary care physician. I'm trying to get a copy of a bill from March. I called the billing department and they can't seem to get it done. Two hours on the phone with them for one silly bill. You ask for a supervisor and there is no supervisor. I can't say enough bad things about a company that operates this way. Absolutely ridiculous. I have the explanation of benefits and need the bill to go with it for a car accident. I will never deal with them again. I've actually switched my primary care physician today because of this.
We never even made it in the door! I had called to make an appointment for my adult (20 year old) son for something semi-urgent and was able to make the appointment without any questions about anything. He was able to get in at a different office sooner and I called this office to cancel the appointment, as he was going to be at work and unable to call in until after their office closes. After a 12 minute hold, I was transferred to someone. I explained that I was just calling to cancel the appointment. I was told that due to HIPAA , I would not be able to cancel the appointment and my son would need to call. I explained that I wasn't inquiring about any information and that I had made the appointment on his behalf initially and the woman on the phone got an attitude. I again tried to explain that he had never been a patient there and that the appointment just needed to be canceled, no further information was required or requested and the attitude escalated. I told her that I had called as a courtesy and that she could cancel the appointment or not, but he would not be there, and the woman sighed loudly and proceeded to hang up on me. I understand and respect HIPAA. I work in the medical profession, but the interpretation was not consistent and the attitude was unnecessary. Thankfully he was seen at a different office with much better service.
