I decided to try Avondale Star Nails yesterday. I am so disappointed that I did. First I'll say it is a beautiful, clean nail salon. I had been getting dip nails, however, the technician I was placed with told me 'powder dip is not for you. The product she used was applied with a brush.I arrived a few minutes before 10 AM. . I had an appointment at 11:30 and I felt like I had allotted enough time. I took my seat and she started using the nail drill. she then did the 10-finger cotton/acetone/foil process. (My previous experience has been a small bowl filled with acetone that I place my fingers in for a bit) After 5 minutes she removed the foil packets. After shaping a bit she put the foil back on each finger. She had to do this a third time. It's now almost 10:45. While filing she caught my cuticles several times. Today they are sore around the edges in three fingers. I picked out a neutral peachy color. The results are VERY thick nails, They are also not smooth when looking at them. The color I picked was not the color I had chosen, it is a hot bright orange color. I hadn't realized until she had already done a hand. Very disappointing experience. There are notes on every station that advises you that they want cash for tips. I don't travel with much cash, but I was able to scrape together a tip for her.I will not be returning.

As a walk in who works in the area walked in clearly stated pedicure and fill salon said yes but when done with full said I needed to come back in 45 mins, bad business seriously if you could not do services should have stated that when you take a walk in . I am a very loyal customer to businesses and was looking to establish near work as a regular . Sadly will not be returning due to bad business practice .

Walked in to do a fill with long nails. I had white powder acrylic. Which she did but didn't match so she painted my nails with white gel nail polish. I asked if she can make them short nails. My nails chipped the next day and the acrylic didn't go back to my cuticle looks like I need a fill already. Had to go back to redo nail polish. I was thinking of doing another color until I asked the lady if she can make them a bit more thin because the nails was way too thick and she told me it wasn't her job. On top of I paid 45$ for a fill and then she wanted to charge me 10$ more for a polish change. I was confused! If I'm getting a fill it is your job! A day later my nails chipped again. Won't be going back the lady was upset because I decided not to change the color. I just refused to give someone like that more money. I felt like she was taking advantage of me because I was tired and pregnant. Won't be going back.
