We hired Mr. Overdis McKenzie proprietor of Solid As A Rock Landscaping to install an irrigation system and sod on our lawn. After starting the job scrap the existing grass and trenching for the irrigation system Mr McKenzie soon became a no show. He would send his crew out and they would only work less than two hours on the irrigation installation. After many complaints Mr. McKenzie installed some tubing in shallow trenches even after being told that the trenches were not deep enough and he admitted that they were not deep enough but still proceeded to install the tubing. We hired him to lay some new grass. Was supposed to lay down a new dirt-bed before laying the grass. Didn't lay down the dirt and tried to pretend that he did. After a few days of laying the grass we made him tell his people to take up the grass, add some dirt so the grass could have some foundation and then relay the grass. The grass he laid wasn't very good quality. After a few weeks of trying to rehab the grass it started looking better. We also hired him to do some landscaping. Didn't finish the landscaping work. Acted like he understood what was supposed to be a simple job but didn't finish the job. Had to stay on him to get his work to look halfway... read full review

Worst sod ever. Man I'd hate to see how much they charge for good work. We paid them to fill in and old pool (done I think but who knows how well), grade the area where pool once was (done but not smooth and even and they left the stumps, boulders laying around), remove and haul off old pool pump and piping (they are gone, maybe thrown in the pool hole?), then lay sod just in the center part of the yard where pool was - perimeter not included so it's fine as is, oh and put top soil under the sod. The topsoil appears to be sand and the sod is those small patching squares and is uneven, lumpy, broken, gaping. I know sod is dormant right now for winter but this... read full review
