“Called HK Electric to diagnose and correct a "locked rotor shutdown" on a Kohler RESA 20 home generator, which basically shuts down the generator and makes the system useless. After reading up on the problem, looked like it could be a # of issues and could be difficult to troubleshoot and repair unless the tech was properly trained and proficient. Technician Brent Mason wasted no time in properly diagnosing my problem, quickly discerning that the problem was either a faulty sensor sending unit or worse case, the control board was defective. Unfortunately, the control panel was the culprit. Good news was that Brent had a new unit on his well equipped service vehicle as well as the adapter wiring kit to work with my 8 year old Kohler unit. It was not a cheap fix, but the only fix. At least Brent's knowledge and expertise made it less painful as he explained every step, reprogrammed the controller and had me up and running again in less than 45 minutes. Can't say enough about the quick response and professionalism of the team of IK electric. From the receptionist who took my call to my service tech couldn't ask for better service.
