UDATE: I now have Grade 2 Diastolic Dysfunction of my heart from this fiasco. Untreated sleep apnea causes heart damage. ?Bogus sleep study. Someone literally was beating on the walls outside my room. They kept me up all night. I called them using my call bell to tell the techs, and they said they were "sorry" but that I had been put next to the room the techs are in monitoring the patient's sleep. This doctor undiagnosed my sleep apnea and periodic limb movement disorder from another sleep doctor/neurologist. He messed me up big time. I had a very difficult time dealing with this office. The staff, while courteous, is practically never in the building! I have spent more time trying to reach them through their answering service than I actually have at an appointment. The doctor severely overreacted to a mole on my back and sent me to a dermatologist - only to find out there was nothing wrong. Nothing is more upsetting than having a sleep doctor tell you something is wrong with a mole when melanoma runs in your family! If you need a sleep doctor, go ahead and drive to Birmingham. I do not recommend having to go through the process of working with this office.
