“WOW! I have been missing OUT! I have only recently been getting my hair cut at all, so I have a good bit of anxiety about how it will turn out each time. I had heard about this salon before as a gay-friendly and just fun, laid-back place to get a haircut. So I booked an appointment with Melanie, the CURL CONNOISSEUR, with the intention to get a shag. When I showed up for the appointment, I checked in with the desk and sat in the waiting area. It is so vibrant and relaxing in this building. They have done a wonderful job of making it feel eccentric and elevated. When Melanie pulled me back, we talked about hair goals and then got to work. We covered so many topics just talking, from my recent divorce to 1980’s movies. One of the co-owners walked by my chair a few time and gave little hype-ups in passing. That felt really good for my hair anxiety. I had a great time chatting with her and I am obsessed with my new cut! I was also impressed with the entire coffee bar and that they offer cocktails! I will definitely be back.“

“Being new to the Birmingham area, I was looking for a new salon for a haircut and beard trim. As one does, I went on a google search hunt and I discovered Wheelhouse salon. Nicole has been my stylist every time I've been there so far and I would like to give her a shout-out, after reading the review from Kimberly.

I'm sure Kimberley's experience is genuine and I do not want to minimize her statement, but as far as I'm concerned Nicole is doing a top notch job. On top of that she's nice and easy to talk to, which always improves the hairstyling experience.
