“I walked into Mythic today on a whim, I needed to cut off my dead ends and I googled LGBTQ friendly hair salons in the Birmingham area. I couldn’t be more thankful that I ended up at Mythic with Shai. The atmosphere was immediately welcoming, my first interaction was in the parking lot! I was a walk-in and she immediately got me in for a quick cut. Shai even noticed my anxiety and checked in to make sure I was comfortable. The whole experience was both professional and personable, she asked questions and made recommendations based on my thick curly hair. My hair feels and looks great! To top it off, Shai and I had spoken about my child having some recent struggles with mental health, and she gave me some information on local supports when we were done. This brought me to tears. Completely not necessary, but unbelievably kind. Mythic Salon is the place to support ?“

“They did a fantastic job on my braids. I got small box braids and they look fantastic. I came in expecting for it to take 6 or more hours but in fact they finished in 3.5 hours. I was very pleased. The price was what I expected. Will go back again“

“i scheduled a short hair cut which includes shampoo, conditioner, blow dry, and hair cut at $25. however, i was immediately seated at the salon chair rather than the shampoo chair. i assumed she would ask what i want and then take me to the shampoo chair but instead she started cutting my hair. long story short, i was charged for an express cut which is $35. i definitely should’ve spoken up and let her know that i wanted my hair washed but i assumed she knew what i wanted from my booking. i felt as this if she dismissed my booking because she had another client in a different chair but i’m not sure.all of this to say, my haircut is still really cute and i’m happy with it! however, i’m really disappointed i spent $10 more then i wanted because i wasn’t able to tip her more than $5. i definitely recommend this salon but make sure they know what you want.Service: Haircut“
