In the end they didn’t stand behind their work and told us three different times that they would come resolve the issue, but never showed. They even said they ordered the rocks and sod and were on their way, but we never saw them and they ignored all our calls. At the beginning Roberto was very professional and seemed the most knowledgeable our of all the quotes we received. While he was the most expensive, he seemed honest so we decided to hire them. There were some red flags, but we let them slide. First, after the first day or so, they didn’t even show up for a couple of days. We had to call and he told us he had to wait for a machine and was too busy and forgot to call us. We understood and didn’t say anything. Once he was done with the retaining wall, we were really confused as we asked for it to be as tall as my fiancée (5’ feet). But if we dig below, we will see the wall itself is 5’. That is NOT what we discussed in the beginning. He said one block would be underground and the wall itself would be as tall as we said. We asked him to put two blocks underground and he agreed. He told us some reason as to why it couldn’t be higher and we believed him because we honestly don’t know much about retaining walls or landscape. Although, we were upset he didn’t tell us all of this before hand, we let it pass because our yard really did look so much nicer. We asked if we would receive a deduction since it’s less blocks because of the height, he said no because the wall itself was 5’. Again, not what we agreed, but we let it go. So not only is the height of the wall not what we originally agreed to, but our land is not not leveled because of the waterfall we now have. Roberto agreed to come resolve it, but no showed three times. We paid A LOT of money for all of this and this is just ridiculously unprofessional. He specifically reassured us that water would trickle down and not create a mess like we had before. Also, he wanted to put one small catch base but I asked him to put two big ones. If we had put one small one, that flood would have been worse.
