About Eagle River Nature Center
Eagle River Nature Center offers a stunning experience in the Eagle River Valley, accessible via Eagle River Road. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of glacially-carved mountains as they arrive at the log cabin nature center, managed by a small, grass roots non-profit organization. The center is open for building visits from May to September and October to April, while the trails remain open year-round. Guests have praised the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the well-maintained trails suitable for all skill levels. The 3-mile Albert Loop trail is noted for its beauty and accessibility, taking hikers along the river with stunning views of the mountains. Shorter hikes feature boardwalks over water and views of a large beaver dam. The salmon viewing decks are a highlight, especially in summer, while winter trails are groomed for easy walking. Although bears may be present, sightings are uncommon. Families and outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty of activities on the grounds, including camping sites. The nature center is a perfect destination for a memorable day hike amidst stunning natural scenery, with opportunities for wildlife encounters depending on the season. A $5 day use parking fee applies.
