Rose's Alterations & Shoe Repair

When I walked in for the very first time; I was nervous. I am new to Anchorage, and very picky about the alterations I needed. I was very specific about my pants, and was not used to someone who would keep insisting they could do the job. Well, I am so happy I chose this place. Rose was able to keep the dept, stitching and double layer I requested. Even better; it looked like the original pant! I have lived all over the US, and this tailor is one the best I have ever encountered.

I'm an odd shaped gentleman. I have arms like eggplants. My legs are stacked loaves of sourdough bread. I dress in a circular manner. Rose made my vintage, road-worn tux fit like a glove. ?

I have a favorite pair of boots I love. I was wearing them a whole day not realizing the heel had fallen off. I shoved them in the closet and forgot about them. Finding a good shoe repair has been challenging so one day I drove by Rose's and saw the sign in the window said shoe repair. I brought the boots back and had her work on them. I'm really impressed! Other than the spot of the suede that got ruined from me walking on it, I literally cannot tell the difference in the heels. I wore them twice with no issues. I also dropped off a pair of shorts I love to wear in summer. I ripped the crotch out somehow. I'm hard on crotches, what can I say? I'm sure she'll sew them...read full review
