Petr and Christy are wonderful. They coordinated a graduation gift with my dad from the lower 48. They are very responsive and great communicators. I stopped in the shop with my dad after graduation and tried some instruments out. They are so kind and will plug in and allow you to try as much as you want. There was no upsell or push on buying. They truly want you to find something you love. Petr’s craftsmanship is high quality and a skill that is a hidden gem in Alaska. I love this place. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Sometimes, when you are new to something, you hesitate to ask questions so you aren't embarrassed. There is no need here to feel that way here. They make you feel right at home.
Petr the owner was in when I stopped by. Very cool store and I was feeling nostalgic and on a whim I wanted to pick up a set of strings for my old 4/4 violin. I used to play years ago since I was 5 till about 13 and when I pick it back up every time it's takes a little bit to get back into the movements and boom I'm playing, now by ear, again. Time to reignite the musical fires burning inside. So Petr asked what quality string I wanted good or better? We agreeing went for better strings.
