Insurance hired ServiceMaster to repair a fence that was broken during a break in. One person to look at the fence, a different one to take pics, a different one to see what paint we needed, and another totally different guy who came and "fixed" it. They were supposed to replace the whole fence but only replaced a single board and none of the posts. To add to the incompetency, they used the cheapest knot filled dunnage lumber to replace the broken piece, and anchored the hinges directly into the wood knots🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ First strong wind, the replaced board flexed and snapped exactly along where the hinges were anchored. When it snapped the weight was suddenly on the gate latch which caused two fence posts to fail under the strain. This made the whole gate fail, the dog ran away and took hours to find him. Tried to get warranty and was ignored for 2 months before I was told that they didn't do anything wrong. Even though the ONLY board that broke was the cheap knot filled one they replaced a few months before. Brand new pieces of wood fail all the time apparently and it doesnt matter if you anchor stuff into wood knots🤦♂️
