Our 4 year old Australian Labradoodle Dune had to have a tooth extraction and a small lump removed on October 16th, 2024. This is the first time he has actually been treated by this excellent group of team members. He visits twice a week at their doggie day care and loves it. Having him treated by this team for this cracked tooth etc. certainly was a no brainer. Thank you Canmore Veterinary Team members for Dune's excellent care.
Derek led the puppy daycare last evening in the play area at the hospital. He was so observant of each dog and gave encouragement to dogs and owners alike. Initially all puppy owners stood at the perimeter and watched the dogs interact. A lot of them, (the dogs 😉), figured out that approaching Derek brought a positive outcome, as in a treat, for good behavior or a brave new interaction. Derek helped owners become comfortable with letting their dogs figure out, without rescuing them, how to make friends or lay down boundaries with other dogs. He was also so encouraging with puppies that would not come out from behind their owners or retreat back to them if another animal tried to approach. A very positive event for puppies and owners! Dr. Sylvia recommended dental surgery for my 10 year old Sheltie. She said that it would change her life. I was a bit reluctant but was proven absolutely wrong. My little dog seems to be at least 5 years younger, so much more playful and far more interested in life around her. We are all astounded and very thankful!
