Catherine is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to yoga. She is a fascinating woman, and a great teacher.

So yes, this is not a typical yoga studio. It is indeed in a house. But Katherine Ross, the teacher is completely unique in her experience as a yoga teacher. She studied with BKS Iyengar himself. She is a fountain of knowledge and is totally kind, caring, and super fascinating. Her class is not always a "workout", but is so centering and grounding. I love it!

Ever since I landed on Catherine's doorstep I have been traveling an incredible and beautiful path of healing. Catherine taught me how to keep daily stresses and worries of the world in check. She helped me ground myself. When I began yoga with Catherine in March of 1999, my goal was to keep my body flexible and strong and my mind focused. I continue coming to class because my goal continues to be reinforced and this brings me joy! Catherine has an incredible ability to understand individual student needs and integrate the posture work in to the structure of the class. For me, yoga has been life-long journey towards emotional and physical balance. Yoga also has given me flexibility in through and body as well as friendship. The end results are well worth the time and effort of daily practice.

Owner is very interesting and knowledgeable person. Place is misleading; this is not a studio. It's a house with classes in her living room. There's no sign making it difficult to find since it's a house on a busy street in Wauwatosa (parking is not easy either). The hatha yoga class I attended consisted of instructor talking and having a student demonstrate. We sat on the floor and stretched with a chair as a prop while being adjusted. She also gave resources for more info on yoga. Her experience and expertise was really great but the majority of the class was a lecture; not very much movement. It's great for those new to yoga, and good refresher for what makes up good technique but definately not a work out. I learned of this place through the Metabody groupon that is trying to promote weight loss so I found this to be misleading.
