In September we had a leak from our water heater. We hired scour to replace it. Had to wait three weeks for a special order wh to come in. During those three weeks we had the entire house water turned off to avoid as much water damage as possible. Turning it on every evening long enough to fill five gallon buckets and pitchers for the next day’s use. Scour finally came and installed the new wh on a saturated wet floor without mentioning to Randy or I that it was failing. By the time we knew there was a problem, the wh was leaning at about 15-20° and the gas fume pipe going out the roof wasn’t connected at all allowing fumes into our home. A full wh weighs between 400 and 500 pounds. If the floor would have failed completely, it would have destroyed the wood heating system right below it in the basement and we would have had water everywhere with tens of thousands of dollars in damage The week after it was installed I had an electrician inspect anything that could have been damaged by water and he informed me about the floor. What kind of professional does this? I am beyond disgusted. Today the water heater has been moved to the basement permanently to avoid this problem in the future. And the floor has been replaced. Scour could only say, paraphrasing, “since you moved the water heater, the warranty is void”. Nice. And if it fell through the floor? How would that warranty be holding up? A shout out to Mike at Redesigned Construction for getting this taken care of for us.
