I hired Golden Hardwood to rehabilitate two levels of top-nailed oak floors in my recently purchased 1909 home. The prior owner, who bought the house in 1977, said he had never refinished the floors so you can imagine what shape they were in. There were deep gouges on the surface and the finish had almost completely worn off. Tony and his team did a marvelous job on our large and complex refinishing job. He refinished 100+ year old top-nailed oak flooring, a laborious and detailed process. He also refinished damaged old fir flooring, and stained it. It all looks beautiful. Tony was an excellent communicator, and kept to the schedule. I thought the price was fair for the high quality of the work. I recommend Golden Hardwoods if you want the best possible outcome.
We hired Golden Hardwood to do a fairly extensive refinish and patching job on our 100+ year-old fir flooring in a Ballard craftsman house. Most of the flooring in the main floor was in extremely poor condition, with large gaps and even some splintering. Several other flooring contractors refused to consider working with the existing flooring, and instead suggested tearing out the flooring and replacing with new oak. We felt that the original tight-grain fir floor still had life in it. Tony evaluated the floor and agreed that it could be refinished.
