Frontier Dermatology (Anacortes)

I don't normally leave negative reviews, but after what my husband experienced, I feel a responsibility to share our story so others can make informed decisions. On May 19, my husband underwent what should have been a routine cyst removal procedure with Dr. James Song at Frontier Dermatology's Mill Creek office. Less than 24 hours later, he began bleeding heavily through multiple layers of gauze, bandages, and even his clothing. We followed the aftercare instructions and contacted the office for guidance, but the bleeding continued. When we called the after-hours physician, we struggled to get clear direction despite explaining the severity of the situation. We ultimately ended up at urgent care and then the ER because the bleeding would not stop. After hours of unsuccessful attempts elsewhere, the ER physician treated the wounds with silver nitrate to stop the bleeding. What should have been a simple outpatient procedure turned into a long and stressful night that ended with us getting home around 1 a.m. The situation became even more concerning when my husband sought a second opinion from another dermatologist. We were informed that the wounds had become infected, required antibiotics, and would need ongoing treatment to reduce the risk of significant scarring. After I filed a formal complaint, Dr. Song personally contacted my husband to discuss the situation. However, despite being told that our concerns would be reviewed and that someone from Frontier Dermatology would follow up, we never received any additional communication from clinic leadership or management regarding our complaint. We understand that complications can happen with any medical procedure. What concerns us is the combination of severe post-procedure bleeding, difficulty obtaining clear guidance when things went wrong, the infection that followed, and the need to seek additional medical care elsewhere. I'm sharing this experience because I would want to know about it if I were researching a provider for myself or a family member. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Dr. Song or Frontier Dermatology.

I had a pleasant experience with this clinic. Friendly and efficient checkin staff, no wait time to be seen for body scan. Procedures were explained well. Clean offices and parking lot very accessible. I highly recommend Frontier Dermotolgy for skin care. I'm already scheduled for next year check up.

Dr. Fowler and her staff did an excellent job. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. What I especially liked was that she encouraged me to come back, even if I wasn't sure it was needed. A great doctor and staff.

Really like my new PA-C Nick Elizondo. He was thorough with everything, explained things in terms I could understand & the rest of the staff was very helpful.
Only thing I noticed was the waiting room could use some redecorating. Looks a little bare in areas & some furniture looked a bit worn out. Other than that, I would say it was a delightful experience.
